Adult Co-Ed Volleyball Camp

Adult Co-Ed Volleyball Camp Bring your volleyball monster to adult volleyball camp. We'll help you get control of him! This camp will have several College and High School coaches.

Perhaps your volleyball skills aren't prehistoric but maybe they need a little brushing off! If so, we will be conducting this exciting weekend Camp for Adults (post-college age). For those who came to our wonderful camp last year, please remember to "bring a friend" this time and share the joy! It will begin Friday evening with introductions, skills assessments and instruction. On Saturday, it'll

be three sessions (morning, afternoon, and evening) of dynamic conditioning, individual skills instruction and team play concepts. Sunday, will include morning and afternoon sessions of more training and coached tournament play. What a great weekend for learning and meeting new people while immersing ourselves in all things Volleyball! Fees to be posted but includes a dorm room in a modern resident hall and meals. Whether you're an experienced player looking to add specific skills or new to volleyball and seeking basic instruction, and whether you're out of college or 70+, you'll discover that the coaching staff will excel at meeting your expectations. We're certain that you'll leave the camp tired but happy with the experience and with your new volleyball skills. The official brochure and registration will be posted as they become available.

Hi all, I just wanted to post some updates for the Adult Co-ed Camp that will now be held at Carnegie Mellon University, June 5-7, 2026. The registration is not live yet; we are waiting for Conference Services to launch that site. In the meantime, we want you to be aware of a couple of changes to the camp:
1. There will be an increased cost to attend the camp. The reason is simply the costs associated with running the camp at a different location. The housing and food costs will be higher and there will also be a facility rental charge that was never incurred before.
2. There will fewer spots available because there are less courts available at CMU. 60 spots available.
We are doing our best to finalize costs to a break even standpoint. We have a rough estimate of what those costs could be and are hoping it will be less when we release the registration.

Here are the projected costs as of today:
Commuter: $299; will include lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday, t-shirt, instruction and unlimited court time between sessions.
Resident - $399; Double occupancy in a double room*; all meals, t-shirt, instruction and unlimited court time between sessions.
Resident - $449; Single occupancy in a single room*; all meals, t-shirt, instruction and unlimited court time between sessions.
*All rooms will be sharing a bathroom.

As information becomes available, it will be posted. Thank you for your patience! If you have any questions, please contact Erin Street at [email protected]

Sad weekend…

04/09/2025

It's a sad day for Volleyball at Slippery Rock University. I am sorry to say that the Adult Co-ed Camp has is being cancelled since Erin (as of April 11th) and I will no longer be affiliated with the university. Below is a copy of the letter received by Erin Street this morning:
Erin,

I have been informed that your last day as volleyball coach at Slippery Rock University will be April 11, 2025. In light of your resignation, leadership of the 2025 SRU volleyball camps you have been organizing with Conference Services in your role as volleyball coach will be changing. The SRU athletics department will assume responsibility for the management of the SRU Girls’ Individual Volleyball Camp and the SRU Girls’ Team Camp in consultation with the new head volleyball coach. The SRU Adult Co-ed Volleyball camp will be cancelled for lack of an SRU coach as sponsor. Should you wish to transition the Adult Co-Ed Volleyball Camp to a privately sponsored event, Conference Services can assist you with those arrangements. A preliminary facility use agreement is attached that outlines the terms, conditions, insurance, and estimated fees that you could expect as an external camp sponsor. If you would like to discuss these arrangements in more detail, please contact Rick Orrico in the Student Center and Conference Services office. Rick can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 724-738-4715. Conference Services will notify all registered participants of these changes and refund registration fees for any cancellations. I am out of the office attending a conference but can respond to email or arrange for a telephone conversation with you and Rick if desired.

Best wishes in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Chris Cole

Erin and I were working in good faith with Deb Schell and Rick Orrico in Conference Services. We were hopeful we would be able to work with the new head coach at SRU in order to run the camp for at least one more year at the Rock. Unfortunately the university does not wish to go in this direction so they chose to cancel the camp. I don't feel it there is enough time to form an LLC and go through all the necessary steps to run the camp externally. Erin and I will attempt to work with Carnegie Mellon University (Erin's new employer) in the future, so the camp will continue. Again, I'm very sorry for the turn of events and we wanted to let everyone know as soon as possible. I'm hoping everyone will consider attending at a new location.
I think I can speak for our staff when I say, this camp is something we all want to continue. Having the opportunity to work with people who truly love the game is an experience that one does not often get to have when working normal camps. We hope to continue the tradition of the camp so we can continue to provide opportunities for growing the game in the adult world of volleyball. Thanks for your understanding and we hope to see you in a new location next year. All information related to the camp will be posted here.
Sincerely,
Erin and Laurie
