Oktoberfest Race Recap 🏁🍂
We showed up Wednesday and Thursday with decent speed and high hopes. But come Thursday’s feature, our setup only had speed for about 10 laps before it completely fell off.
Friday and Saturday were a grind — chasing speed that seemed to disappear the harder we worked for it. We qualified 22nd of 29 for Sunday’s Midwest Tour race and ran the qualifier to determine our starting spot, but again, the car just wasn’t there.
Sunday morning, we regrouped, took a big swing at the setup — and it paid off. 💪 Mitch started 28th in the 200-lapper and worked his way up to 20th before the first caution around lap 50. By the halfway mark, he climbed to 18th before the competition caution, where we put on two new right-side tires and fueled up.
Not long after, Mitch picked up debris from a wreck around lap 130, causing a flat right front. The crew got him back out, but we had to bolt on the old 100-lap tire, putting us a lap down. Even with 3 used-up tires, Mitch fought hard and brought it home 17th.
It wasn’t the weekend we hoped for, but after a frustrating few days, we’re proud of how the team regrouped and finished strong 😎
