Tuesday, March 17th, the Jerry Priesgen Memorial was held at JD Motorplex featuring the Stock Class running in the counterclockwise direction. A total of 17 drivers showed up for the event, including former SNA standout Victor Rohrig. This was a season high for the number of competitors.

Qualifying was intense, with the top 7 all qualifying at under 3 seconds. Qualifying was led by Victor with a fast 2.751 lap on the blue lane. Ryan’s 2.789 on blue and Bruce’s 2.821 on green rounded out the top 3. Bill Jr’s 2.934 on green and Craig O’s 2.8936 on red were good for 4th and 5th.

Heat races were won by Angie, Deb, Bill Sr, Craig O, and Bruce. This was Bruce’s 1st win in the fast heat.

The feature had a lot of action as well with Bill Jr claiming that the win after the action subsided. Craig O grabbed 2nd and the cagey veteran, Victor, finished 3rd. Ryan and Tom rounded out the top 5.

Victor’s 2.751 qualifying lap on blue was good for a new track record. Craig’s 59 laps on red was also a new track record. Craig O’s 53 on yellow tied a track record held by himself and Bill Sr.

The points championship was also settled.

This past Tuesday was the Open class finale at Wild Bill’s Superspeedway. Season points were extremely close between the top 3, with Ryan leading Craig O by 1 point and Bill Sr by 2 points.

Qualifying was led by Bill Sr’s fast 2.925-second lap on the green lane. Bill Jr’s 3.160 on green and Ryan’s 3.172 on green were good for 2nd and 3rd. Tom’s 3.346 on yellow and Sandy’s 3.373 on green rounded out the top 5.

Heat races were won by Nick, Deb, Pat, and Bill Sr.

In the feature, Bill Sr completed the clean sweep, besting Craig O’s 2nd-place run by one lap. Bill Jr, Tom, and Ryan rounded out the top five.

Bill Sr’s clean sweep allowed him to leapfrog both Ryan and Craig O to claim the Open Class season championship. Craig O’s strong performance moved him to 2nd while Ryan held on to third.

Next up is the 3rd Annual Jerry Priesgen Memorial featuring the finale for the Stock Class cars. I highly encourage everyone to attend to help celebrate Jerry’s life! Practice starts at 5:30 with qualifying/racing at 6:30.

There will be another open practice at Wild Bill’s Superspeedway on Monday night from 65:00 – 9:00.

This past Tuesday, the Legends had their 25-26 season finale at JD Motorplex running in the clockwise direction.

Qualifying was led by Bill Jr’s 3.709-second lap on the green lane. Bill Sr’s 3.729 and Craig O’s 3.750, both on the green lane, were good for 2nd and 3rd. Bruce, with a 3.891, and Pat H, with a 4.109, rounded out the top 5.

Heat races were won by Bob, Bruce, and Bill Sr.

The feature win was captured by Bill Sr, followed by Craig O and Bill Jr. Bruce and Pat H rounded out the top 5.

Four track records were set. The green lane qualifying record was broken 1st by Bill Sr’s 3.729 and then again by Bill Jr’s 3.709. Craig O’s 3.750 also broke the old record. Doug reset his own yellow lane qualifying record with a 4.402-second lap. Pat H broke the green lane lap record during the feature with 44 laps. Bill Sr tied Jim Tremblay’s yellow lane lap record with 38 laps.

The final points found Craig O to be the dominant winner. Bill Sr edged Bruce by 1 point for 2nd place. Bill Jr and Ryan rounded out the top 5.

Next up, Tuesday March 10th, will be the Open class finale at Wild Bill’s Superspeedway! The track owners at Wild Bill’s will once again offer free concessions! You will want to come and see the high-speed action at this always exciting facility.

Monday, March 9th, Wild Bill’s Superspeedway will once again be holding an open practice for all divisions from 6:00-9:00.
