SHOWING OUT FOR OUR FUTURE QUEEN!

Last night, our Slidell High Wrestling family showed up and showed OUT for one of our own, Dream Carter, as she represented on the Homecoming Court!
We walked behind Dream in the Homecoming Parade, danced, sang, made plenty of noise, and made sure EVERYONE knew who we were there to support!
One thing about this wrestling family is that we support each other both ON and OFF the mat. Whether it's chasing medals, competing for championships, or walking across the football field on Homecoming night, we're going to show up for our people!
Dream, we're extremely proud of you! You represent our program with pride, and seeing your teammates come together to celebrate you is what being part of this family is all about.

Now let's go get that crown, Dream!

THE DELL IS BEHIND YOU!

Huge shoutout to our junior team captain, Matthew Pierce, for making the trip to the Naval Academy this past weekend for a prospect camp!
Matthew is coming home with a ton of new knowledge, valuable experience, and a great tune-up right betore competition season kicks off!
Proud of this young man for continuing to put in the work and finding ways to get better. The work never stops!

The standard has been set, but we’re far from comfortable.💪

Top 10 in Division I preseason rankings. That’s a start, but we’re coming for the top spot.

Unfortunately, our girls didn’t crack the preseason rankings, but just watch. Our girls program is ready to take the state by storm too.

We’re not here to settle. We’re here to make history.🔥

ALMOST 50 KIDS ON DAY 1!! (Our 3rd season)

42 to be exact, with another 10–15 waiting on paperwork or who couldn’t make it today.

A lot of people ask how a program truly becomes a strong program.

DEPTH.
Depth is the answer, and it all starts with NUMBERS.

We had an awesome first day today, but as the season goes on, it’s going to get tough. We encourage every single one of these kids to stick with it.

Wrestling will be the most fun sport in the world one day and absolutely TERRIBLE the next.

That’s life.

The lessons these kids will learn on this mat will continue with them throughout life.
-discipline, toughness, accountability, resilience, and how to keep going when things get hard, some things that can’t always be taught in a classroom or learned on a job site.

There are going to be hard days. There are going to be days they want to quit.
Keep showing up. Keep pushing. Keep getting better.

Day 1 is in the books. Let’s have a GREAT season!

One final tune-up before the school year starts.

We had several Tigers make the trip to Deep South Nationals this summer, and a few brought home some hardware. Competing against some of the toughest wrestlers in the region is exactly how we continue to raise the standard.

High School Individual Tournament Results:

⭕️JJ Scully battled to a 5-2 record and earned a 4th-place finish at 113 lbs, claiming All-American honors.

⭕️Jhase St. Amant fought through an incredibly deep and talented 126 lb bracket, finishing 2-2 against tough competition.

Duals Results:

🔘Cadence Bordelon competed with BRAWL Pink out of Louisiana, going 5-6 at 107 lbs and showing tremendous growth throughout the weekend.

🔘Kylie Mackles gained valuable mat time competing with Plaquemine Wrestling Club out of Louisiana.

🔘Zander Hollis wrestled with the All American team out of Mississippi and finished 8-2, falling just one match short of All-American status.

🔘JJ Scully wrestled with BRAWL Silver out of Louisiana and continued to gain experience against top-level competition.

🔘Jhase St. Amant represented Element Wrestling out of Alabama and finished with a strong 6-3 record in dual competition.

🔘Jayvier Hollis wrestled with BRAWL Silver out of Louisiana, putting together an outstanding 8-1 weekend and earning All-American honors.

Proud of these athletes for choosing to seek out the best competition and challenge themselves before the season begins. The work being put in now will pay off when it matters most.

Great weekend of wrestling, great competition, and great representation of The Dell. The season is right around the corner.
