Southern Youth Ballet Southern Youth Ballet, Classical Ballet Academy, is dedicated to promoting youth in the arts. We believe in the importance of dance and all it has to offer.

At Southern Youth Ballet, we believe that the classical disciplines are essential to the artistic development of children. Classical Ballet offers a wealth of opportunity. From learning an art form filled with technique, musicality, and artistry to discovering self-discipline, self-responsibility, and accomplishment. Ballet requires dedication which will give much back in return. If you let it, Ballet will take you on an incredible journey.

Bravo Dancers - What a beautiful Gala production last weekend! 💐 The compliments are still flooding in! Senior Spotlight: Addison Killian 🩰

Addison has been with Southern Youth Ballet for 11 years, as an apprentice for many of those years. Her favorite memory from ballet is her roll in “Spanish” in The Nutcracker. Addison recently graduated from Slidell High, with honors, in the top 10% of her class. She was in The National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, amongst other clubs. She will be attending Loyola in the fall, majoring in Nursing. Her goal is to become a CRNA.

Senior Spotlight: Avery Hanrahan 🩰

Avery has been dancing at Southern Youth Ballet for 3 years, but she has danced for 15 years in total. In her time at SYB, she has played many star roles such as Clara, Snow Queen, and Sugar plum in the Nutcracker! Her favorite role was getting to play Clara because as a little girl she had always dreamed of being Clara! Avery has graduated from Mount Carmel Academy where she was in 6 clubs! She was given the award of Magna Cum Laude for her high GPA and was recognized for being a member of the National Honor Society Club! In the fall Avery will attend LSU where she has already been awarded scholarships! She is majoring in Pre Nursing with the hope of becoming a CRNA in the future!!

Congratulations Avery! We look forward to following you on your journey and welcoming you back to the SYB stage. 💞
