Before you stretch your neck⦠try this.
Neck and shoulder tension are incredibly common today especially if you spend time sitting, working at a computer, looking at your phone, or even watching TV.
Most people assume the answer is to stretch the neck.
But very often, the neck isnāt the real issue.
Itās working too hard to help us breathe.
When breathing becomes shallow or stays high in the chest, the muscles in the neck and shoulders step in to assist, sometimes all day long. Over time, this can lead to tightness, fatigue, and discomfort.
In this article, I share a different approach:
⨠using the breath as an internal massage
⨠allowing the ribs (especially the back of the body) to expand
⨠helping the neck do less instead of asking it to do more
