This was such a meaningful conversation for me šŸ’›

I had the chance to speak with Cheryl Soleway from Rocking the Ages while I was presenting at the ICAA Conference & Expo, and we talked about how movement can become more supportive, efficient, and connected when we shift from ā€œdoingā€ to ā€œfeeling.ā€

If you’re curious, I’d love for you to watch: šŸ’›

Before you stretch your neck… try this.

Neck and shoulder tension are incredibly common today especially if you spend time sitting, working at a computer, looking at your phone, or even watching TV.

Most people assume the answer is to stretch the neck.

But very often, the neck isn’t the real issue.

It’s working too hard to help us breathe.

When breathing becomes shallow or stays high in the chest, the muscles in the neck and shoulders step in to assist, sometimes all day long. Over time, this can lead to tightness, fatigue, and discomfort.

In this article, I share a different approach:

✨ using the breath as an internal massage
✨ allowing the ribs (especially the back of the body) to expand
✨ helping the neck do less instead of asking it to do more

Sometimes, the most effective way to relieve tension is not by stretching harder—but by restoring how the body works together.

If your neck or shoulders have been feeling tight, this might offer a simple shift šŸ’›

Why Neck Tension Is So Common TodayNeck and shoulder tension are among the most common complaints I hear when working with both older adults and professionals who spend long periods sitting whether at a computer, looking at their phones, or watching television. Most people assume the solution is to s...

Happy Thursday 🌿

I don’t usually go for self-imposed holidays…
but I do believe most of us don’t give ourselves enough space to pause, breathe, and acknowledge what we’re carrying.

After a long, cold winter, that pause can matter even more.

So here’s a 30-second reset you can try right now:

• Let your feet feel the floor
• Soften your jaw and shoulders
• Take one slow breath that widens your ribs
• Notice one thing you’ve done well this week

That’s it. No productivity goal attached.

If you’d like to explore this kind of embodied reset in a small group setting, I have a couple of spots left in my upcoming session.

What’s one thing your body is asking for today?

Couple of spots left. Contact me if you want to participate. 🧔
