I received this message last night. I wanted to share it because Bristol was chosen to be our king nominee for everything he is as a person. No one works harder in the weight room but, he is special for what he does out of it.

"Hi, I just noticed that the gentleman that was your homecoming court nominee was the kid I was trying to figure out who he belonged to so I could tell his parents or someone how he helped me.

I was doing trash pick up and was getting super heavy bag out of the can and as soon as I got it out he noticed and ran over and immediately asked where I was going with it, I told him and he threw it on his back without hesitation and took it where it needed to go. Super nice kid!

It started leaking so he dropped it but I think it’s the same kid. Lol Anyways shout out to him!"

Bristol the strongest muscle you have is your heart. 💪❤️

The success of this program hasn't been, isn't and never will be measured by physical strength, state championships, state champions, or winning. My dream was always more than winning, i knew we would win. This message sums up what my dreams for this program alaays were, and continue to be.

Coach DeClue,

Now that we have moved and Brady is no longer part of the Skiatook powerlifting team, I’ve found myself thinking about how much that experience meant to him—and to us as parents.

Brady may have never earned a medal, but honestly, I don’t think the medals were ever the most important part. What he earned through powerlifting was so much more.

He learned discipline. He learned to push himself and to keep showing up. He learned the importance of exercise, eating healthy, and taking care of himself. But most importantly, he learned what it means to be part of a team. He had a place where he belonged, surrounded by people who encouraged him and pushed him to be better.

As a mom, that means more to me than any medal ever could.

Thank you for the time, patience, encouragement, and dedication you gave Brady and all of the kids. You were teaching them far more than how to lift weights—you were helping them build character, confidence, and life skills that they will carry with them long after their time in powerlifting is over.

We truly miss Skiatook and especially the powerlifting team. It’s hard to leave behind people and experiences that became such an important part of our lives.

I just wanted you to know how thankful we are. Brady was lucky to have you as his coach, and we will always be grateful that he got to be part of the team.
Thank you for everything.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Janna Metzinger
