The annual Gray Wolves Christmas party is confirmed on Tuesday December 16 at 12:00 PM at the Lake House in Skaneatles. Spouses, significant others, and friends of the organization are always welcome. Please pass this on, as my email list may not be complete. Complimentary food and beverage is provided by Gray Wolves hockey.

Today in 2000, Maurice Richard died. One of the greatest NHL players ever, and a Quebec icon, he was the first player to score 50 goals in a season & 500 goals in a career. He won 8 Stanley Cups.
He was the first non-politician to be given a state funeral in Quebec history.

We received a message this morning from Diane Elwell that Brian has passed away.

Syracuse.com has just published an article on Brian.

He was a hockey guy, a great friend, and was a big help in organizing the last few tournament.

Elwell is survived by his wife, Diane; sister, Sandy; his three daughters (Nicole, Ashley and Audrey); niece, Daria; nephew, Alan; and nine grandchildren.

A service will be held on Friday at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5341 West Genesee St., Camillus (time TBA).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s name to the Ronald McDonald House of Central New York or any other charity.

The Gray Wolves Christmas Lunch will be Thursday, December 29th, the Thursday after Christmas!

It will be at the Skaneateles YMCA, on route 321. Street address is 97 State Street, Skaneateles.

Coffee at 11:30, lunch to arrive at noon. If you are receiving this email, you are invited. No cost for lunch.

We will skate our normal 9:30 to 11:00 am time slot prior to lunch.

The management of the Skaneateles rinks and community center is changing from the YMCA to the Skaneateles Community Center as of 1/1/2023.

If you skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are not a member of the YMCA, pay at the front desk as currently with no change of cost.

If you are currently a member of the Y, as of 1/1/2023 your Y membership transfers back to the Auburn YMCA if you have not canceled it, and cannot be used at the Community Center.
You should have received an email on the 16th from the Skaneateles Community Center with the link to their website to become a member. Costs are the same as the 2022 YMCA costs. The process is much like buying something on a website.

Hope everyone continues to skate in Skaneateles.
