A huge thank you to Don and Joanne of Beale Paddles for teaching our Greenland paddle carving class yesterday, Skamokawa Resort for the conference room, and all our students who attended. All 5 students made their very own Greenland paddle. Don meticulously starts a blank paddle that’s a general size in his workshop. During class each student marks their paddles with the appropriate measurements for their size. Next you spend a few hours carefully carving away and sanding until it’s completed and time to oil.

If you haven’t tried a Greenland paddle we have several available to try during our tours and for sale. With all this great weather in the forecast I can’t wait to get my new paddle out on the water.

Each paddle is unique in looks and its measurements. There are no two Greenland paddles that are the same. Each one has its own pattern in its unique grain of wood. Handcrafted with care, beautiful functional pieces of art that glide through the water. If you’re interested in our future carving class send a PM or comment here and we will keep you updated. Today, I ventured out for a short paddle and came across this captivating tree. This tiny Sitka Spruce growing on an old piling with its beautiful bright green needles signals the approach of brighter spring days. Make sure to sign up on our website for our public tours launch.

Our vans sure miss being full of customers heading to the boat launch. Today is a beautiful 😎sunny day so a little cruise in the van to keep her happy until the official paddle season is here. I think the lonely paddle in the back is trying to peak out from behind the seat to say “please take me kayaking.” Can’t wait to get our public tour schedule posted. We’re so grateful to have such a beautiful airport for many of our customers to fly in and out of.

You’re shocked, we know.

After years of accolades, after a major renovation that revealed a spectacular, light-filled main terminal with sweeping wooden ceilings, after introducing more good, local dining options (and perhaps the greatest airport beer bar in the world), this just had to be the best airport in America.

At the end of the day, is it any surprise that people love PDX?

A new ranking by the Washington Post set out to find the top 10 airports in the U.S. using a combination of passenger recommendations and data analysis.
