Congratulations to the Sanford Youth Triathlon and Z3 team on a successful 2026 season!

Out of 98 athletes competing in the Rip Roar Races (ages 6-15), 75 athletes raced their way to the podium. Additionally, our High-Performance Team (ages 13-19) saw an athlete on the podium in nearly every race. We are so proud of these athletes and their accomplishments this year!

WHAT. A. SEASON.

Our triathlon athletes showed up in a BIG way this year! They spent their season competing, challenging themselves and representing our team from the local race course all the way to high-performance races across the country!

โšก๏ธ RIP ROAR RACING
Across 5 Rip Roar races, 98 of our athletes competed and 75 raced their way to the podium! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ‡ 26 first-place finishes
๐Ÿฅˆ 15 second-place finishes
๐Ÿฅ‰ 10 third-place finishes
๐Ÿ… Plus 20 more 4th & 5th place finishes!

And our High-Performance Team took their season on the road, competing in 5 draft-legal races across Texas, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio.

Even more impressive? Our athletes earned podium finishes at 4 of the 5 high-performance races, including:

Employee spotlight: Shaina! ๐ŸŒŸ

Shaina joined the team in August 2025. She can be found welcoming members at the front desk or helping families in KidsZone.

She's focused on building healthier habits by improving nutrition and finding enjoyable ways to stay active. Working at Sanford Wellness Center has given her the time, support and motivation to make positive changes to continue showing up for herself every day. Today, she enjoys yoga, bodyweight workouts, hiking and swimming.

Fun fact: Shaina grew up in Las Vegas, NV before moving to Sioux Falls at 16 years old. She graduated from SDSU with a degree in Studio Arts & Art Education, before earning her Special Education Certification through Black Hills State.

Be sure to say hi to Shaina when you see her around! ๐Ÿ‘‹
