Meet the Staff: Rylen
Rylen Mathieu is a Junior Studio Assistant at South Dakota Aerial & Arts, where he helps support the studio through cleaning, organization, and party-related tasks. Currently a 10th-grade student, Rylen brings hands-on work experience and a strong willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
Before joining the SDAA team, Rylen gained experience working as a workamper at Firefly Hills in Kentucky, where he assisted with cleaning, farm chores, property upkeep, and a variety of day-to-day tasks. Having lived and traveled full-time in an RV with his family for three years, Rylen has had the opportunity to explore all 50 states and experience a wide variety of places, communities, and environments.
Outside of work and school, Rylen enjoys fishing, hunting, trapeze, and Ninja. He is also a black belt in Taekwondo, reflecting years of training, discipline, and commitment to martial arts. As a Junior Studio Assistant, Rylen brings his practical experience and active interests to his role while continuing to learn more about the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the studio running. Rylen is also one of the SDAA stilt walkers, bringing another of his active interests into the performance side of the studio.
