The last few weeks have been eventful for the program, with many accolades earned by the guys! Here are some of the highlights:

Evan Fuchs was named the Human Performance major's Student of the Year.

Dante Rigal won "Male Best Game of the Year"

Tyden Schultz was named the program's "Newcomer of the Year"

Jeremiah Bethel was named the program's "Most Improved"

Charles Witas was name the program's "Charger Award"

Jarrod Gilliam & Dante Rigal were named "Co-MVP"

Coach Watson Placed 7th @ the US Open

Coach West doubled up at the US Open and won matches in both Freestyle and Greco in the Senior Division!

Coach Watts Placed 3rd @ the US Open and landed his birthday gainer today!

We are excited to announce our latest commit to the Briar Cliff Wrestling program for the 2026-2027 season, Andrew Gomez out of Porterville High School in Porterville, CA! He is planning to major in Business Administration and is projected to compete at the 133pound weight class! He is the son of Andres and Maria Gomez. Here are a few accomplishments from his high school career:

3x Conference Placer
3x Regional Placer
3x District Placer (1x Champion)
Top 16 @ Doc Buchanan
Freak Show Placer
2x Gold Honors Academic Award Recipient
3x Silver Honors Academic Award Recipient

We are excited to announce our latest commit to the Briar Cliff Wrestling program for the 2026-2027 season, Octaveas McGahan out of Douglas High School in Casper, WY! He is planning to major in Education and is projected to compete at the 149 pound weight class! He is the son of Krista and Derek McGahan. Here are a few accomplishments from his high school career:

1x State Finalist
2x Regional Placer

The Briar Cliff Wrestling Program finished in the top 15 academically, which makes us an NWCA/NAIA Scholar All-American Team! Please celebrate these young men for the hard work they put forth into their studies, on top of the physical and mental grind of the sport. As they know, their wrestling career is only but a small window, but their education will put them in position to pursue the goals they've set professionally!

The Briar Cliff Wrestling Program wants to take time out to recognize our 4 individual NWCA Scholar All-Americans for the 2025-26 year:

- Jackson Balmer, a Redshirt Junior from Everett, WA, is an Education major, a 2x Team Captain, and has a 3.569 cumulative GPA.

- Trystan Berry, a Graduate Transfer from Lexington, Ne, is working toward a master's degree in Management and has a 3.667 cumulative GPA.

- Graison Kelley, a Freshman from Kemmerer, WY, is a Liberal Arts major who redshirted this season. He has a 4.000 GPA.

- Tyden Schultz, a Freshman from Sparks, NV, is a Kinesiology major, who redshirted this season. He has a 3.624 GPA.

Join us in congratulating these young men on making an impact in our program and representing Briar Cliff University through exemplary academic achievment!
