⚾ Baseball has always been about making memories.

On June 18, 1953, the legendary Mickey Mantle hit one of the longest home runs ever measured at Yankee Stadium—a moment baseball fans still talk about decades later.

While we may not see a 565-foot home run at Westside tonight, you never know when you’ll witness a young player make a memory they’ll talk about for years to come. A game-winning hit, a great defensive play, a first strikeout, or simply the joy of playing America’s pastime with friends.

Grab a chair, bring the family, and spend your Thursday evening at Westside Little League. The future of the game is on the field, and every game has the chance to create a special moment.

Before you answer, come on down to the fields tonight and cheer on our amazing Westside players as they take the field. There’s nothing better than seeing our athletes compete, have fun, and represent Westside with pride. Your support from the stands means a lot to them!

Now for the fun part: If Westside Little League had an official mascot, what should it be? 🤔

Should it be an animal? A baseball-themed character? Something that represents our community? And what would it look like?

There’s nothing better than watching some of our youngest athletes take the field! This week, we invite everyone to come out and cheer on our P*e Wee players as they showcase their hard work, growing skills, and love of the game.

Little League is about so much more than baseball and softball. It helps young athletes build confidence, learn teamwork, develop leadership skills, practice sportsmanship, and create friendships that can last a lifetime. Every game is an opportunity for our players to learn valuable life lessons while having fun and staying active.

If you're heading to the fields, come prepared to beat the heat:
🧊 Bring a cooler filled with ice
💧 Pack plenty of water for players and families
🧺 Cooling towels can make a huge difference between innings
🧢 Don't forget hats, sunscreen, and shade whenever possible

Player safety is our top priority, so let's all do our part to stay hydrated and cool throughout the day.

⚾🎉 Join us in celebrating National Little League Week at Westside Little League! 🎉⚾

This week, we're recognizing what makes Little League so special: our incredible community.

From our dedicated coaches and volunteers, to our supportive parents, sponsors, board members, and of course our amazing players—Westside Little League thrives because of the people who show up, pitch in, and make memories together every season.

Thank you to everyone who helps create a positive, fun, and welcoming environment where kids can learn the game, build confidence, make friends, and grow both on and off the field.

National Little League Week is a reminder that baseball and softball are about so much more than wins and losses. They're about community, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the lifelong connections we build along the way.
