If you’re living on the toe, stop guessing—start training the strike.

Place a tee just outside the heel and make swings without touching it.
Now you’re forced to deliver the club more centered, not by feel… but by consequence.

This isn’t a swing thought—it’s feedback.
Miss the tee = better face control.
Hit the tee = you’re still throwing the handle down.

Train impact. Don’t chase positions.

Width isn’t reaching your arms out.
It’s keeping structure while your body turns.

If your arms run off early → you lose width
If you hinge early → you lose width
If you throw it from the top → you lose width

Real width looks like:
• Arms staying in front of the chest
• Lead arm long (not locked)
• Club staying outside early
• Extension THROUGH impact—not before it

Most amateurs get narrow early… then try to “add width” late.
That’s backwards—and it kills both speed and strike.

Keep it wide early.
Keep it wide late.
Let the speed show up at the bottom.

When turning the hips correctly, most golfers chase positions… but ignore pressure.

If your pressure never gets into the trail (right) heel in the backswing, you don’t actually load—you just sway. No resistance. No torque. No ability to create speed without throwing everything from the top.

A small shift into that right heel does three things:
• It stabilizes your center instead of drifting
• It allows the pelvis to rotate instead of slide
• It sets up a real transition—not a panic move

Then everything flips on the way down.

If you don’t get pressure into the lead (left) heel early in the downswing, you’re stuck. Arms take over. Path gets thrown out. Face gets manipulated.

But when pressure moves into that left heel:
• You create a firm side to rotate around
• The pelvis can open without stalling
• The club shallows and delivers with speed instead of effort

This isn’t about “weight shift” like people were taught years ago.

It’s about pressure control.

Heel to heel is what allows rotation to actually work.

No heel pressure → no ground force
No ground force → no speed
No speed → no consistency

Stop thinking positions.
Start controlling pressure.

If your palms don’t face each other on the grip, your hands are already fighting each other before you even move. That’s where inconsistency starts.

Palms facing each other puts your hands in a married, connected position—so they can work together instead of competing. That gives you better face control, cleaner contact, and a much more predictable ball flight.

There's plenty of golfers don’t have a swing problem… they have a hand problem. Fix this first.

Why long arms post-impact matter 🏌️‍♂️

If your arms start folding right after contact, the body stops rotating and the club passes your hands → hello chicken wing.
Keeping your arms long after impact means your chest keeps moving, the handle keeps leading, and the club exits around you — not up and across.

What it does for your swing:
• Maintains speed through the strike
• Improves face control (less flipping)
• Starts the ball online more often
• Adds compression without forcing it

Long arms = body driven release, not hand-save release.

If your lead knee never works under your lead hip in the backswing… you didn’t turn — you swayed.

A real pivot rotates the pelvis and pulls the lead knee inward. That’s the sign you actually loaded the hips instead of sliding off the ball.
No knee-under-hip = no coil → arms lift → over-the-top.

When the knee moves under the hip:
• You gain depth
• Pressure shifts correctly
• Transition shallows naturally
• Speed shows up easier

Don’t chase positions — chase rotation. The knee is just the proof.

Your lead leg is the engine that lets you push the ground and turn that push into speed.

When the lead foot plants, the lead leg should accept pressure (brace) and then push—not by “jumping,” but by using the ground to stop the slide, open the hips, and sling the club. That push creates vertical + rotational force, which helps you:
• Stabilize low point (cleaner contact)
• Rotate faster (more speed without “swinging harder”)
• Control face + path (more predictable start line/curve)
• Finish balanced (proof the forces were directed correctly)

If the lead leg collapses or keeps drifting, you lose the post to push against—your upper body has to “save it,” and that’s where flips, blocks, and timing issues show up.

Let's get rid of your bad chipping 👊

🔸When you’re hitting a short chip, you want the club to keep moving through while the loft stays stable. Finishing with the clubhead below the handle is a simple checkpoint that usually means you did the “good stuff”:

👉You stayed rotating (not flipping).
If the handle keeps leading and your body keeps turning, the club doesn’t pass your hands. That reduces the “scoopy” hand action that causes thin/fat chips.

👉You controlled loft + low point.
Handle slightly ahead helps you strike ball-then-turf (or ball-then-brush). That gives you more predictable contact and distance.
👉You got clean, forward energy.

Clubhead-under-handle in the finish typically means you didn’t add speed by “throwing” the club at the ball. Instead, you delivered a smooth, shallow hit that pops the ball out consistently.

😎You reduced the big miss.
The flip adds loft randomly and moves the bottom of the arc around. That’s how you get the classic chip yips: one chunk, one blade. This finish helps take that volatility out.

Why should your right leg move away from the ball in the downswing?
Because it unlocks REAL rotation.

When the trail leg shifts back and externally rotates, it lets your pelvis open without getting stuck. That means:

👉 More space for your arms to shallow
👉 Better posture instead of early extending
👉 Faster hip rotation
👉 More speed with less effort

Think: “Right pocket goes behind me.”
When that happens, everything in your swing has room to work.
