KSBO Newsletter for February 2026. The 52nd Season of KSBO is Proudly brought to you by our Season Title Sponsors Lakeside Industries and 900 Global® as the Official Bowling Ball Sponsor of KSBO.
KSBO Bowlers, Sponsors, and Supporters. Here is your February 2026 Newsletter highlighting the results of the 21st Annual Tom Myers Sr. Memorial Tournament held at Hi Joy Bowl on February 28th, 2026.
RESULTS OF THE 21st ANNUAL TOM MYERS SR. MEMORIAL AT HI JOY BOWL ON FEBRUARY 28TH, 2026.
This tournament honors Tom Myers Sr., a well known Kitsap businessman who purchased Hi Joy Bowl in 1970 and founded All Star Lanes in 1985. Tom Sr. inspired generations of bowlers—young and old—and kept bowling alive in Kitsap County during a time when centers across the country were closing. At one point, Kitsap County had nine bowling centers; thanks in large part to Tom Sr., the sport remained strong here.
After his passing, Hi Joy Bowl went to his daughter Mickie Hoem, and All Star Lanes & Casino went to his son Tom Jr. and wife Laurie, with Steve Force—and later Jim Monahan—serving as Bowling Operations General Manager. In 2015, Hi Joy was purchased by Tom’s grandchildren Timmy, Tommy, and Kylie, in partnership with “Uncle Buck,” Jim Monahan, continuing the family legacy.
When All Star Lanes & Casino was sold to Maverick Gaming, Tom Jr. and Laurie stepped into a well earned retirement while the grandkids and Uncle Buck continued running the family business for the next generation of bowlers.
UNDER DIVISION SPONSOR: HI JOY BOWL; JIM MONAHAN AND THE MYERS FAMILY.
Hi Joy Bowl has sponsored this tournament since its inception, and we thank Jim Monahan and the Myers Family for their decades of supporting KSBO.
We had a GREAT turnout for the 21st Annual Tom Myers Sr. Memorial with 28 Under Bowlers and 35 Open Bowlers showing up to bowl on the Kegel Landmark Oil Pattern Gateway Arch.
After 5 games of qualifying in the Under Division, Hannah Sutton was the leader. She shot games of 173, 237, 169, 235, and 248 for a 1062 qualifying score placing her 55 pins over second place. With 28 bowlers in the Under Division, we cut to the top 10 for the Semifinals. Low to make the cut and cash was 909.
After 3 games of matchplay semifinals, Hannah was able to maintain her lead. She shot games of 193, 195, and 201 for a 589 winning two of her matchplay matches for an additional 60 bonus pins. This added to her qualifying score of 1062 gave her a total pin fall of 1711. Behind her were Frank Showalter 1595(60), Val Runge 1578(90), Kyle Nichols 1546(60), Jacob Thomas 1531(30), Kayla Thomas 1528(30), Mark Hasbrouck 1511(60), Lani Morris 1465(30), Michael Hammersmith 1464(30), and Paul Mann 1434(0) with the top 5 advancing to the TV Matchplay finals.
In the first match of the TV Matchplay Finals, Jacob Thomas defeated Kyle Nichols 188/157. In the second match, Jacob turned on afterburners to defeat Val Runge 255/185. In the third match, Jacob ran into “Old Man Power” as Frank Showalter sent Jacob home defeating him 215/172 to advance to the Championship Match against tournament leader, Hannah Sutton. In the Championship Match, Hannah was not going to be turned away this tournament. She started the match shooting the front 4 then got some critical pin carry to defeat Frank 209/150 to earn the Championship Title. This is Hannah’s 2nd KSBO Under Division Title. Her first Under Division Title was also at a Tom Myers Sr. Memorial back in the 49th season. How cool is that? Congratulations Hannah, well done.
OPEN DIVISION SPONSOR: STORM – SOUTH SOUND TOUR.
This is the 5th time Storm – South Sound Tour has stepped up to sponsor a KSBO Tournament. We thank Randy DeBolt going above and beyond, supporting the sport we all love.
After 5 games of qualifying in the Open Division, Scott Halvarson was the leader. He shot games of 236, 237, 234, 266, and 269 for a 1242 qualifying score. With 35 bowlers in the Open Division, we cut to the top 12 for the Semifinals. Low to make the cut and cash was 1062, but it wasn’t as simple as taking the top 12 bowlers because we had three bowlers tied for the cut which required a 9th and 10th frame roll off to determine which 2 would advance. They were Tom Jamrog, Cameron Kerlee and Ashlyn Walters. In the 9th and 10th frame roll off, Tom shot 30, Ashlyn shot 29, and Cameron shot 26, so Tom and Ashlyn advanced to the Semifinals.
After 3 games of matchplay semifinals, we had a new leader in Casey Jamrog. He shot games of 258, 279, and 219 for 756, winning all three of his matchplay matches for an additional 90 bonus pins. This added to his qualifying score of 1129 gave him a total pin fall of 1975. Behind him were Anthony Sanders 1863(60), Ryan Taylor 1840(60), Scott Halvarson 1839(0), Dean Richards 1825(60), Ryan Showalter 1801(60), Ashlyn Walters 1778(45), Austin Gratzer 1765(60), Tanner Triggs 1756(30), AJ Brockett 1751(60), Keith Beck 1739(15), and Tom Jamrog 1648(0) with the top 5 advancing to the TV Matchplay Finals.
In the first match of the TV Matchplay Finals, it was a battle back and forth, but Scott Halvarson was able to hold on to defeat Dean Richards 245/227. In the second match, newcomer Ryan Tylor almost went yard until a stone 10 stopped his streak of strikes in the 10th frame to defeat Scott 277/224. In the third match, Ryan left a devastating high-flush pocket 4-pin in the 10th, while Anthony got some lucky carry to finish with 6 strikes in-a-row to defeat Ryan 248/237 to advance to the Championship Match against the tournament leader, Casey Jamrog – a rematch of the last tournament at Laurel. In the Championship Match, both bowlers struggled with carry throughout the match and the lead changed almost every frame. Leading into the 10th Frame, Casey had a Turkey but opened in the 10th leaving the door wide open for Anthony. Unfortunately for Anthony, an 8-count in the first ball of the 10th cost him the match as Casey was able to win sitting on the bench 191/188 to earn his 13th KSBO Title (6 singles, 2 Trios, 1 Quad, 4 Doubles). Congratulations Casey.
Once again, we would like to thank Hi Joy Bowl, Jim Monahan and the Myers Family and Storm South Sound Tour for sponsoring the 21st Annual Tom Myers Sr. Memorial. We look forward to your sponsorship again next year.
We also want to thank our 52nd season Title sponsors, LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES and 900 GLOBAL, the official bowling Ball Sponsor of KSBO ( ). Be sure to check out 900 Global’s newest release (hitting pro shops in May 2026) - the Origin EX, the next chapter in the Origin series, built to conquer high-friction lanes with smooth control. Powered by the same revolutionary Ellipse A.I. Core, this ball pairs dual-procession core technology with a brand-new solid coverstock. The result is one of 900 Global’s cleanest covers yet, engineered to clear the fronts with ease and deliver a smooth, predictable backend motion. And with its asymmetrical core, you’ll still get the punch off the breakpoint—without the sharp, unpredictable moves.
Our next tournament is the Fan Favorite, the 38th Annual KSBO Swiss Trios sponsored by All Star Lanes & Casino, Axis Point Pro Shop, and Lakeside Industries. NEW THIS YEAR: 1-DAY, 8-GAMES. CAP IS 615 and you can have ONE Non-KSBO Eligible bowler on the team. We will be bowling on the Kegel Element Series Oil Pattern Lithium. From there we head back to Laurel for the last time this season for the Seven Cedars Casino Under and Hartnagel Glassworks Open. Then we will finish the season back at All Star for the 52nd Season Grand Finals.
Grand Finals Status as of 2/28/2026 is posted on our Website (KSBO.net) and listed below. As a reminder, to qualify for the Grand Finals you need to have minimum of SIX Paid Entries. Of those six, FOUR must be singles events, and you must have paid an entry in each of the three houses.
Entry Forms for the Swiss Trios are out. As of this newsletter, we have 23 teams signed up. The Facebook reserve a spot is up as well. When reserving your spot on Facebook, I will need the names of your bowlers, your team’s name, and your averages based on the KSBO Bylaws.
