Love this warm weather fishing!
I’m behind on my fishing report so putting one together here real quick this morning! Living and fishing where we do here in North Central Florida is a true blessing! This area is a year round big fish fishery! In fact I prefer the warmer months to be honest as there tends to be less boat traffic. Those same big fish people flock here for in Winter and early Spring are still here and biting in the Summer and in many cases are more cooperative! The fishing has been good and while not all, most trips are producing between 35-50 bass per day with lots of trophy bass!!! While not all of the trips we’ve done in the last 2 weeks, here are a few examples of the good Fishing in the last couple weeks since my last report: I had Austin Strouble and friend in for a trip and the boys boated 43 bass to 10lbs. New customer Robert Gandy and crew caught 31 bass with an 8 and 10lber. Stuart Pavlik and Andrew Cameron caught 49 bass to 8-1/2lbs. Long time return customer Bob Gordon fished 3 days and boated 124 bass with 42 on day one, 50 on day two and 32 on day three with the biggest at 8-1/2lbs. Bill French and co. boated 47 bass with 3 over 7lbs and an 8-1/2lber. Return customer Yovanni Gonzalez caught 34 bass with two 8lbers. Mike and Kendall Dean caught 41 bass to 8-1/2lbs.The last two days new customers Steve and Gina McCallister have caught 63 bass total to 8lbs and last but certainly not least Brian Nutt and co caught a bunch of nice bass with 4 over 7lbs and a 10lber! Rodman Still Rolling On!
It’s been another fun week with some great customers and friends old and new! The lions share of the trips in the last week have produced 35-55 bass per day with loads of trophy fish! The weather is heating up and so is the fishing! Here are some highlights from the past week!: New customer Amy Thiel and her husband made it in for a days fishing and boated 48 bass to 10lbs! New customer Kevin Bishop and friend made it in for 3 days fishing and the guys boated 137 bass in 3 days with several bass between 7 and 9-3/4lbs! New customer Michelle Unger and family made it in for a days fishing and boated 43 bass with bass weighing 7 and 9-1/2lbs as the big fish! New customer Randy Chapman and pal had another great day boating 45 bass with two bass at 7lbs and a 9-1/2lber! Carroll Proffitt, Phil Kicklighter and friend caught 72 bass in two days with several bass between 7 and 7-1/2lbs! Last but not least I had new customers, Cody and Katie Cantrell in for a days Fishing and they boated 40 Bass even with about three Bass at 7 pounds or above! The same day local and new customer Eli Lynn had a lower number day but boated several nice bass with another HAWG that tipped the scales at 10lbs even! Roll Rodman Roll ! Fun Spring Fishing!
It's been a fun week since my last fishing report. Still, there are lots of challenges with shifting w**d beds and strange weather, but I guess it wouldn’t be any fun if it were easy! Trips have produced between 30-50 bass in the last week with 3 bass this past week that reached the double digit mark. Here are some of the fun trips:
Had the crew from Hog Heaven back for 4 days, in those 4 days they caught 153 bass. Big bass of their trip was Andy with a long time sought after 10lber! Next up was new customer Devin Royse and pal and they caught 45 bass topped by fish weighing 8, 9 & 10lbs! Then had long time customer Melinda M and best friend Joyce in for a mornings fishing and the ladies caught about 40 with bass weighing 8-1/2, 9-1/2 and 10lbs! Return customer Mike Wapinsky got in on the action catching 40 bass with big fish going 7-3/4lbs and last but not least I had return customer Michael Wilensky and his son catch 65 bass with 31 on day one and 34 on day two with lots of great fish and big bass for the two days going 8lbs. Rodman Reservoir Fishing Report 4/27/2026
It’s been an outstanding six days of fishing since my last report! Trips have been producing between 35 and 50 bass! We’ve had lots of great bass with the biggest being a little over 9lbs : )Here are some of the folks that got in on the action:
Tom Easterly, Mr. Bell and friend made it in for a fun morning of fishing. We boated 35 bass with three fish topping the 7 pound mark. Next up was the infamous Mike Galbusieri and Bob, the guys boated 35 bass again, with a 7lber, two at 7-1/2 and a 9lb 6ozer! Next up was Eddie and Carroll Atkins who booked me for two days. In those two days they caught 87 Bass with probably 10 fish between 7 and 8 pounds. Next up was Fred St Amour and crew. They boated about 70 bass in total with the biggest being 8 pounds. Then was the Albaqeta Family who boated 49 bass to 7 pounds! Last but certainly not least was Terry Brinson and his young son. They boated 39 Bass with the little man getting a big headed 7 1/2 pounder! Has just been a really fun week or so of fishing! Really Sad Day Today!
Today I said goodbye to an awesome fishing machine that so many of us got to make incredible memories, so many laughs and tons of big fish out of! It was an incredible boat that the great people at Prodigy boats help me design and custom built for me! I’m grateful for all the help and customer service they gave me and will miss this boat a great deal! But she went to a really nice couple from South Carolina and I know they’ll have a lot of fun, take care of her and make a lot of great new memories! But have some really exciting news that I should be able to share with everybody in the next week or so! A new partnership and some really fun and exciting stuff to come! Stay tuned! Prodigy Boats

Rodman Reservoir Fishing Report 4/21/2026
Fishing Starting to heat up!
As most of you know who fish with me, I really love this time of year! I don’t much care for the busy months of February and March, but once you get to April the lake starts to quiet back down and the bass are post spawn and hungry. The challenge is still staying on fish as everything is still shifting around from the drawdown and a spot will be there one day and gone the next! But the fishing has been stellar! Trips are now generally producing between 40-60 bass per day, with gobs of trophy bass and bass up to over 10lbs in the last few days! Since my last report I had Bob Browning and his grandson in for 3 days and they boated 128 bass with 4 bass topping the 8lb mark, with 55 the first day, 46 the second and 27 the third day. Next up was Albert Tierney who boated 41 bass to 8lbs. Then I had Dan Harkins and pal in and they boated 53 bass to 7lbs. New customer Andrew White and son made it in from Georgia and boated 31 bass to 7lbs 2oz and then on two trips yesterday Merle Fields and pal boated 47 bass to 10lbs 1oz!! and the Snelling Family boated 32 bass with a 8-1/2 and 9-1/2lber!! Some Great Fish and Rodman in a Hard Reset
Had a bunch of fun in the last week reconnecting with history and catching A LOT of great bass! I got to take the grandson of one of the legendary area guides and one of the persons that taught me how to fish, the late and great J Nelson Hulvey. Nelson was perhaps one of the greatest guides to ever live and probably boated somewhere between 1800-2000 bass exceeding 10lbs in his long and illustrious career that lasted into his 80’s! I had the pleasure of taking his grandson Nick and family and the laughs and old stories made this a very special day for me! It was also a fun week with some great regulars like Mikey G, The Wintermitz’s, Phil Kickliter, The Ostermiller Family, Paul McWhirter and crew and Brandon Burgdorf and crew! Rodman is in a total reset as the water is getting in the lower side of normal and it’s bringing a lot of chaos as the fish are spreading out and the w**d beds are constantly moving. You’ll have a great fishing hole one day and nothing the next! Lol. You have to slug out days and constantly be looking for new fish but the results have been really fun! We have been boating between 20-40 bass per day with lots of bass between 8 and 10lbs! Lots of big, beautiful and healthy Rodman Reservoir bass! Rodman Reservoir Fishing Report 4/6/2026
Great Fishing in a Time of Chaos!
The lake is slowly filling back up and as of the time of this report, is at roughly the 17-1/2’ mark. Which means it’s about 2-1/2’ down from normal full pool level, but only about 6” from where they tend to keep the lake level in Winter months I believe. As you can imagine the rising water creates lots of chaos as w**d beds are constantly shifting and moving around and you can have an incredible fishing spot one day and it’s gone the next! But the water is beautiful and full of life! You just have to keep your head down and keep working and nobody will work harder than us to stay on the fish! Trips have been generally producing between 30-50 bass per trip with lots of GREAT bass between 8-10 pounds! I love this time of year as the fishing really heats up post spawn! The lake is in the process of resetting itself and I’m happy to report looks great with lots of beautiful and healthy bass! Rodman Reservoir and Area Fishing Report 2/17/2026
Thank you Lord for this current warming trend! It has been another strange and up and down weather year here on Rodman and the other local lakes we fish. A lot more cold by Florida standards than us Floridians are used to and man did it wreak havoc on the fishing! I actually saw water temps in the last two weeks that were in the 40’s!!!! Poor fish didn’t know if they were coming or going!! lol Made for some up and down fishing. But things are starting to stabilize and the fishing is exploding! Trips are producing typically 50-70 bass per day right now with LOTS of great fish!!
