Akron jumped 10 positions in Week 4, climbing from 47th to 37th place among 151 Clubs worldwide!

With 1,800 Canis Magnus Club Points, Akron has now climbed 26 positions over the past two weeks!

Akron also moved up to 5th place in Division 3, continuing its steady climb from 7th place in Week 1.

🥏 Ohio Disc Dogs: Akron World Games Update

11 Akron Teams are on the board in the 2026 Fall Season of the K9 Frisbee World Games!

With all three World Games events played at least once, Jeff Schmitt and Astrid are leading the Akron Club with 1,985.62 World Games points. They currently rank 3rd in the World and 1st among Akron Teams.

Here’s a look at the current scores for all three events and where Akron’s Teams stand.

There’s still time to improve your scores!

Teams can now:

* Replay any World Games event they’ve already played to try to improve their score and replace a lower result.
* Play any event they’ve missed to complete their World Games record.
* Work toward a personal best, improve their World Rank, and earn additional World Games Bonus points for their Club in the Super 8 Division Challenge.

AKRON K9 FRISBEE — FALL LEAGUE + WORLD GAMES START SUNDAY (tomorrow)!

Come join us -- anyone with a dog is welcome to play.

The Super 8 Division seedings have been announced for the 90:/5 Fall Season of the K9 Frisbee Worldwide League, and Akron is seeded in Division 3!

This Fall, there’s also a new twist.

🏆 TWO WAYS TO WIN A DIVISION PENNANT

The regular five-week 90:/5 season works just like always: Clubs earn Super 8 points, and after Week 5 the #1 Club in each Division wins the Fall Super 8 Division Championship pennant.

But Clubs can also play the optional K9 Frisbee World Games and earn bonus points toward a second, separate World Games Division Championship. If a Club uses those bonus points to overtake the regular-season winner in the combined standings, they earn an additional World Games Division pennant -- and a chance to win a Coolorado dog bed.

🥏 AKRON PLAYS SUNDAYS AT 10 AM

For the next five weeks, the Akron Club will play both 90:/5 League and host the K9 Frisbee World Games beginning at 10 AM Sundays on the Frisbee fields at Silver Lake Village Park.

90:/5 League consists of two 90-second rounds of K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch, with only the best 5 catches in each round counting toward your weekly score.

AKRON FINISHES #35 IN THE WORLD, #2 IN OHIO AT 2026 WWC 🥏🐕🏆

SILVER LAKE, OHIO — Under clear skies, comfortable temperatures and almost no wind, the Akron K9 Frisbee Club hosted the Northeast Ohio Regional of the 2026 K9 Frisbee Worldwide Championship on Saturday, September 5 — about as perfect a day as you could ask for to toss some discs to our pups.

Akron may have fielded a small roster, but everybody contributed. Just eight Akron regulars competed for Club points, and all eight earned Super 8 points, combining to put Akron #35 in the world among 109 Clubs represented in the Championship.

That was also good enough to make Akron the #2 Club in Ohio.

And congratulations to our friends up north at Cleveland, who finished #17 Worldwide and claimed bragging rights as Ohio’s top Club for 2026. You guys rock!

🥈 BRODIE & BRIAN CRACK THE WORLD TOP 10

The biggest Akron performance of the Championship came about 150 miles northwest of Silver Lake.

Brian Baldwin & Brodie traveled to the Monroe, Michigan Regional, one of the League’s toughest fields, and Brodie was on fire.

The Aussie-Doodle put together three huge rounds of 20.0, 22.0 and 20.0 points for a 62-point Championship total.

That performance put Brian & Brodie 2nd among 25 Expert Teams competing at Monroe — and, when scores came in from around the League, landed them at an incredible:

They also earned the League’s highest WWC title:

There’s not much downtime in K9 Frisbee.

The 90:/5 Fall Season begins Sunday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. in Silver Lake.

Unless there’s enough interest to justify continuing a Wednesday evening League night, Akron will play Sundays only this Fall. If you’d like a Wednesday option, let us know.

Otherwise, grab your dog, grab some discs and come join us Sunday mornings.

Newcomers are always welcome. If your dog likes to chase a Frisbee, you’ve already got what you need to get started.

🥏 NORTHEAST OHIO TAKES THE FIELD AT THE 2026 WORLDWIDE CHAMPIONSHIP

SILVER LAKE, OHIO — Northeast Ohio’s Frisbee dogs took their shot at the world on Saturday, September 5, as the N.E. Ohio Regional of the 2026 K9 Frisbee Worldwide Championship brought Teams from Akron, Canton, Mahoning Valley, Cleveland and Duke’s Windham together in Silver Lake.

They were joined by Nick Rivera and his dogs Ossa and Ranier, representing Las Vegas, for a field of 22 competing Teams plus an Akron Fun Run Team.

Three rounds determined the Regional champions in Expert, Master and Handler, and the top spots were spread among several Ohio Clubs.

🏆 EXPERT: BUTTERS ROLLS TO THE REGIONAL TITLE

Taylor Yepes & Butters of Cleveland put together rounds of 12, 16 and 12 points for a 40-point total and the N.E. Ohio Expert Regional Championship.

Butters, a 28 cm Pembroke Welsh Corgi, competed as both a Roller and Tiny Dog and edged out Canton’s Michael Tankersly & Ruckus, who scored 38.

Taylor nearly put two Teams on the podium, finishing third with Blitz at 35 points.

The Expert podium:

Akron’s Corey Vinton & Hyzer and Mark Vitullo & Vinny each scored 32 points, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

🏆 MASTER: MARY & BAILEY LEAD A STRONG CANTON SHOWING

Canton grabbed another Regional podium when Mary Cochran & Bailey posted the day’s highest Master score.

Their three rounds totaled 35.5 raw points. Add the Master Division’s 7.5-point Championship handicap and they finished with 43 points and the Regional title.

Akron’s Carolyn Calvert & Max took second at 37, while Kevin Cochran & Bailey gave Canton another podium finish with 36.

🏆 HANDLER: A 37-POINT DEADLOCK AT THE TOP

The closest race of the Regional came in Handler, where Kevin Fraser & Auggie of Mahoning Valley and Maggie Slechta & Arty of Duke’s Windham each finished with 37 points.

The official Regional rankings gave the championship to Fraser & Auggie, with Slechta & Arty second.

Akron’s Chad Kress & Dirtley finished third with 29.5, just ahead of Canton’s Kiersten German & Havoc, also at 29.5.

One of the best parts of the Worldwide Championship is that the competition in Silver Lake wasn’t just about winning a Regional.

Every Team was simultaneously competing against Frisbee dogs playing at WWC Regionals around the world, while their A Teams were also earning Super 8 points toward their Club’s Worldwide Championship ranking.

And Northeast Ohio represented itself well.

Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Mahoning Valley and Duke’s Windham all put Teams on the field in Silver Lake, with all five ultimately appearing in the final Worldwide Club standings.

Thanks to everyone who played, judged, helped run the field, traveled to Silver Lake or simply came out to watch some dogs chase plastic.

And congratulations to our 2026 N.E. Ohio Regional Division Champions:

🥏 OHIO AT THE 2026 K9 FRISBEE WORLDWIDE CHAMPIONSHIP

Ohio was well represented in the 2026 Worldwide Championship, with 13 Ohio Clubs putting points on the board among the 108 Clubs worldwide that competed.

And leading the Buckeye State this year was Cleveland.

🏆 CLEVELAND TAKES THE OHIO CROWN

Cleveland turned in an outstanding 5,278 Super 8 points, finishing #17 Worldwide and #1 in Ohio.

Akron was next, scoring 3,984 points to finish #35 Worldwide and #2 in Ohio, followed closely by Canton at #40 Worldwide with 3,581 points.

Here is how every Ohio Club finished:

That’s 12 Ohio Clubs represented in the final standings, with Teams spreading out across several WWC Regionals.

Northeast Ohio was especially well represented. Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Mahoning Valley, Burton, Brunswick, Duke’s Windham and Toledo all put Club points on the Worldwide leaderboard.

And remember that Super 8 scoring rewards depth: a Club can count as many as its best eight A Teams, so several of our Ohio Clubs were competing with fewer than a full eight-Team lineup. Cleveland and Akron were the only Ohio Clubs to put a complete eight-Team Super 8 roster on the board.

Congratulations to Cleveland — Ohio’s #1 Club at the 2026 Worldwide Championship — and to every Ohio handler and dog who represented their local Club on the worldwide stage.

We may have a little rain tomorrow morning — it’s Ohio, so who really knows — but temperatures should be in the low-to-mid 70s. Overall, it looks like a pretty good day to play Frisbee with our dogs!

The playing field is at the south end of the park. Enter the access road between the baseball diamond and tennis courts, drive approximately 200 yards, and park alongside the field.

Walk-up registration is $30 per Team.

🥏 THE COMPETITION

We currently have 19 Teams preregistered, with medals awarded to the Top 3 Teams in each Division.

The competition begins with:

Master Division → Handler Division → Expert Division

Rounds 1 and 2 will follow the initial Running Order posted on the Live Scoresheet.

For Round 3, Teams will be reordered within each Division based on their standings, with the leaders taking the field last.

Each Team will play three 60-second rounds, with ALL catches counting toward their final score.

🏆 Tomorrow’s scores will determine our 2026 NE Ohio Regional Champions — and will also be entered into the Worldwide standings as we compete simultaneously with K9 Frisbee Teams around the world.
