Got a last min (and I mean very last min) invite on a weekend offshore trip to the flower gardens. The fishing was a little tough but the trip over all was unreal. It's a little hard to believe that I have bags of wahoo and amber jack meat in the freezer. The sunsets were something out of a movie... catch ya 🤙 🌊 🌅

Caroline got her 1st tripletail today!!! It was another REALLY tough day and these 2 hung in there and we made it happen. Only brought 1 home for dinner but caught a few smaller ones, and we FINALLY got to see/catch a yellow one! Oddly enough, it isn't uncommon for some tripletail to be born a vibrant bright banana yellow color that will disappear completely when they mature. Anyway, there's your tripletail fact of the week lol. Catch ya 🤙🌊🌅

Tripletail are easily my favorite fish to target. Pound for pound, even a barely legal tripletail will give you an unforgettable fight. Most people don't know that these prehistoric looking fish are actually a species of grouper. They exhibit some of the most bizarre behavior you'll ever see and are without a doubt some of the best eating fish you'll ever have. This fish is very special to a lot of people (including me) who know how to target them, and during the summer, it is the most fun fishing I've ever done... Catch ya... 🤙🌊
