Dear Elite Sport Taekwondo Family,
Fifteen years ago, we opened our Taekwondo school with a vision of teaching more than kicks and punches. We wanted to help build confidence, discipline, respect, and character-and along the way, we were blessed to watch so many young people grow into strong, capable adults.
A few years ago, I, Josh, stepped back from day-to-day instruction and officially retired from Taekwondo. One of the greatest honors of my life was watching Andrew Rodgers-our very first black belt-step forward and take the reins. He didn’t just keep the school going; he poured his heart into it. He treated it as his own, upheld its values, loved the student’s, and continued the legacy with passion, care, and integrity. We could not have asked for a better person to carry this school forward.
Now, Andrew has entered a new season of life. He is married, building a future, and preparing to start a family of his own, with a sweet baby girl on the way. As exciting as that chapter is, it deserves his full focus and energy. After many thoughtful conversations, and lots of prayers, we realized the only way to honor the school, the students, and what this place has always stood for is to close our doors with intention and gratitude, rather than trying to divide our time between chapters.
This school has been so much more than a business for my family. We have raised our own children in this school, and watched many other children walk in unsure of themselves, and leave confident. We’ve seen student’s grow up, graduate, go to college, serve in the military, enter law enforcement, become teachers, and step into adulthood carrying lessons that extend far beyond the mat.
To every parent who trusted us with their children, and to every student who became part of this family-thank you. Your support, loyalty, and belief in what we were building made all of this possible. The impact of this school will live on in ways that cannot be measured by belts or years.
As we close this chapter on a high note, we do so with full hearts, immense pride, and deep gratitude. Thank you for being part of this journey and for allowing us to be a part of yours.
Our last class will be Tuesday, March 31. That night will be a celebration of 15 wonderful years, with refreshments, fun, and one final bow out, with past and current students.
With Sincere Appreciation,
Josh & Sarah Holmes & Family
