I designed and manufactured this bocce set for the style of bocce we play here in Sarasota, Florida. The traditional 107mm bocce balls are too heavy for the way we play. Long backspin in soft sand. Side spin, reverse side spin, long rolling 300 ft plus etc. The official Bocce Xtreme set is 96mm and 1 lb 15 oz and is perfect for this version of bocce. All the influence of the various spins calls for a smaller ball, but still heavy enough to roll very far and not get easily knocked off it's due course
Week 19 of Bocce Golf at The Palms at Forest Lakes saw Dave McLaughlin and Kirk Thompson share medalist honors with both carding a score of 1 under 35. Dave McLaughlin also secured a skin and took home $44. Taras Stelmashenko, Kevin Wilhelm, and Mike Slowick all had a skin each and $22. Look forward to seeing everyone again Thursday at The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes.
