Are you feeling like summer is the perfect time to start your wellness journey? Good news! MPWRD Fitness Is hosting a 3 month long challenge!

The Healthy Girl Summer Challenge is completely free, you just have to pre-register!

What IS the Healthy Girl Summer Challenge, you ask? It is 13 weeks of nutrition, fitness, mental health, and mindset tips, as well as a fitness plan that anyone can follow! Every two weeks, there will be a Live Chat where we can answer any questions anyone has as well has chatting about the prior weeks challenges.

During the 13 weeks, there will be 13 challenges you can do, that will build on each other to help you form lasting mindset shifts and habits that you can take with you to keep working on your own health and wellness journey.

Feeling like you need a bit more accountability after the challenge? The participants with the most completed challenges at the end will receive 3 free months of online coaching with the coaching package of their choice, a Team MPWRD Client Warm-up jacket, and a $25 giftcard to the Fitness or Nutrition store of the winner's choosing. Those that complete at least 9 of the 13 challenges will also be eligible for up to a year of discounted coaching as well.

Question of the day:
Myth or Reality? Losing weight is as easy as eating in a calorie deficit.






Myth! For some clients, they believe they are in a calorie deficit when they really aren't. If you are struggling to lose weight, start by narrowing down your possible problems. For example: not accurately tracking your foods which means you aren't actually in a deficit, you've been eating so low calories that you've down regulated your metabolism so you are no longer eating what your body believes is a deficit, or even hormone imbalances. My suggestion would be to eat as normal, and begin tracking your food as close to the gram as you can and in put into an app like myfitnesspal. If your calories are accurate, and you're eating in a normal range (usually is 1700+ calories, NOT 1200), then make an appointment with a doctor to have blood work done! This could mean you have hormones that are not where they need to be!

FACT! In fact women need to be lifting heavy weights to help lose weight as well as see body composition changes! Women biologically do not produce enough testosterone to look "manly" on accident. The women you do see that have bigger muscles and are more "bulky" did that on purpose, and they had to work long and hard to get to where they are.

Say it with me friends! Fruits are not the enemy! Carbs are not the enemy!!!

I had a talk with a friend of mine last night, and she'd been hearing from many friends, family, and coworkers that the reason she hasn't budged in her weight loss journey in a while is because she's "eating too much fruit". This woman is eating at most, 5 servings of fruit a day. The American Heart Association recommended 4-5 servings of fruit a day, so she would be right where she needs to be!

So remember! You can eat fruit, you can eat carbs, you can have sugar on your weight loss journey!

Have you ever felt like beginning a fitness journey is a huge life change? And you take on so many new "rules" that you 'fall off the wagon' within a week or maybe two? To be successful, you need to be making small changes that become habits over time. Don't start out by meal prepping 3 meals a day for all 7 days! Start by making a healthy dinner and bringing leftovers to lunch the next day. Don't jump right into drinking a gallon of water a day, just start by drinking water with meals instead of high calorie sodas. You especially don't have to be going to the gym your first week for 2 hours a day, 5 different days. Take it slow, build those habits and you'll see more results for longer.
