Today's lesson is Balance.
It is important to understand the underlying principle of this, behind Hard vs Soft Strong vs Flexible or Light vs Darkness.
Kumite is for now, Kata is for life.
Learn to strike in the Dojo, so you may not have to in the Street.
Train hard, and get Hit hard in the Dojo, and you won't Work hard to defeat the enemy, nor will you be touched by the enemy, in the enemy's territory.
Behind this is what you choose to stand on.
We will call this your Throne.
How you handle Trials in Life, will build a Throne for you to sit on.
If you handle situations in Anger to conquer them, then you sit and rule on Anger.
Handle trials in Peace, and you will sit and rule in Peace.
So remain Happy, Hopeful, keep the Peace; and assuredly I tell you, they will also keep you.
Protect the Kata, and the Kata will Protect you.
Train hard with Kumite; Punch and kick hard in the Dojo, and you won't have to try hard when you need it.

To Sempai(assistant instructors) Teach the Kata, and the Kata will Teach you.

If you are faced with an Enemy; you could take his weapon from him and kill him,
Or you could take his real weapon from him;
By taking his will to fight.
If you bring him down, Humble him, let him hurt himself.
After all, it was his weapon to begin with, not yours. Anger is the path to self destruction,
Therefore, let the enemy use it. Remain calm, Kiai abruptly, keep centered, stay Balanced and trust the Kata.
