📣Congratulations to Kullen and Chase for qualifying for the Championship Round at Nationals in Mason, Michigan.
404 out of the 1,752 shooters qualified and competed on Sunday 7/12 for the podium.

Our Red Jacket shooters did not disappoint. They both had personal best shoots as well.

Kullen placed 83rd with 98/100 targets
Chase placed 134th with 97/100 targets

We are beyond proud of our 4 Shooters that made it this far. Your hard work and determination gave you this opportunity to stand and shoot among some of the best trap shooters in the Country.

Four of our Red Jacket Trap shooters Qualified for the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship in Mason Michigan this weekend (4 day event).
The MTA (Michigan Trapshooting Association) home grounds features 44 Trap fields.

Today our athletes are getting some practice in.

Tomorrow will be the Individual qualifying day. Up to 1,800 athletes will be assigned to shoot two 50-taget sessions (100 total) for Saturdays qualifying round. The top 400 student athlete scores will qualify to compete in Sundays Championship Round.

On June 7th, 17 of our 27 Trap athletes competed in the 2026 New York State Tournament in Cicero, NY
Over 1,500 student athletes representing more than 133 High school teams competed in the multi-day tournament.
Each team is assigned a tournament day as determined by their class designation and will compete against other competitors within their assigned class. Teams and individuals will compete in their respective classifications (Novice,Junior Varsity, and Varsity) based on the athletes Spring season ending average. An athletes 100-target score is used for both individual and team competitions. Red Jacket Class 3A Conference2.

Red Jacket High School Trap Team finishes 3rd in the Class 3A Conference 2 with 8,212points to conclude its Spring 2026 season. It was a competitive Season against Morristown Central School, Sharon Springs Central School, Copenhagen Central School, Voorheesville High School, Stillwater Central School and Akron Central School.
We had 4 Male shooters finish in the top 25 Male division, and 6 Females in the top 25 Female division.
Placement and Averages include:
Males:
-Kullen Hill 3rd, with a 22.30 Average
-Chase Atwood 8th, with a 21.80 Average
-Zachary Whittaker 15th, with a 21.20 Average
-Henry Walton 21st, with a 20.60
Females:
-Riley VanBortel 2nd, with a 21.80 Average
-Mackenzie Michaelsen 8th, with a 17.50 Average
