Evergreen Karate & Kobudo Club - PNW Practical Martial Arts for the Real World. Training tailored to physical abilities.

We are a Okinawan Kenshin Kan Shorin Ryu Karate & Kobudo school (OSMKKF) with "Traditional" teachings that focus on real life applications. We stress fighting fundamentals/self defense (hard/soft techniques), discipline, fitness, situation awareness, and White Crane internal arts.

Kyra is one of Hanshi Ader's students. Her mom, Nicole, told her I was at the Colorado Kobudo camp. She made arrangements to take off work, did her homework (college classes in high school), and finished her chores just to come and train with me for the day. She made my weekend. I told her she has strong karate and should not be afraid to show it. She is pursuing a career as a psychotherapist. How wonderful. PS. Her cat 'dara' and my 'sophie' compete for Hanshi Ader's attention during zoom classes.

Stephen is 16 yo and has trained with me for over 4 yrs. I wanted to present him with his adult 4th kyu rank in karate and kobudo with green belt tuite rank that he earned several months ago. His school work breaks up his training but he keeps coming and growing. He came with his aunt Tia. Sensei Tim stopped by for a rest on my homestead (attended by the staff, Sensei Sophie and Huggybear Joey).

Working with Stephen on cross training using free weights. Turns out in his new classes this quarter, he has weightlifting for 1st period. He is doing everything we worked on. Huh! The magic reindeer behind us. No worries, I am learning Inuit to speak to them in their language.

After a long summer hiatus stevie came back from the land of the giants to train. Next week, he gets his 4th kyu jr karate and kobudo promotion. I cant believe how strong he is now. Sophie is instructing him on how to feel the Samurai cat spirit by rubbing the Sai on her. She request this ritual for every weapon. I need to get the garage dojo ready so he has room.
