The High 5 put away is all about turning opportunities into finished points.
But most players only practice it from one position, which doesn’t translate well to real gameplay.

Repetition from multiple angles is what builds true reliability in match play.

One thing that every new player should remember: Once you serve the ball, STAY PUT.

Many players will move around after the serve to start the game, but then the ball comes back and mistakes are made. Build confidence that you will be able to approach the ball with the right technique.

Think your d**ks are inconsistent? It might not be your technique. It might be your focus. With this drill, you have to call your shot before you hit it, forcing you to stay locked in and play with intention.

Here's a simple tip that can improve your game immediately: Stop rushing your serve. Many players step up and hit the ball before they're fully prepared, leading to unnecessary faults and missed opportunities. The rules give you 10 seconds to serve after the score is called, so use that time wisely.

Many players treat the third shot drop as a defensive shot. The best players use it as an offensive tool. A well-executed drop allows you to move forward, pressure your opponents, and earn a ball you can attack. The drop isn't the finish; it's the setup. In this drill, we're working on the full sequence: third-shot drop, transition to the kitchen, and finishing the point with a put-away.

You moved up to 3.5 without ever drilling.
Then you stopped moving up.
That's not bad luck. That's the ceiling of just playing.
Cindy started pickleball at 64.
She climbed to 3.5 in rec and tournament play with no formal training.
Then she set a real goal. Consistent 4.0+.
That's when she started drilling with Night Train.
Now every session has a focus.
Third shot drop. Keeping the ball out in front. Shot placement and strategy.
Drilling went from the thing she skipped to the thing she looks forward to every week.
She's turning 70 this year.
And she's planning on another 10 in the game.
In her words: "My only regret is that I didn't start both playing and training sooner."
You don't need more open play. You need the right reps, in the right order.
