Tips to Get You Through the Winter Months Ahead!

This time of year, it’s easy to get a little out of sorts when it’s dark, cold, and often rainy in the Pacific Northwest. Some people really struggle through the winter with “Seasonal Affective Disorder” or commonly known as SAD. Here are some helpful tips to keep your spirits lifted till the weather changes to the sunnier side.

1. Stay consistent or start an exercise program
2. Arrange your residence or workspace to receive more sun
3. Limit processed foods and excess alcohol
4. Increase fruit and vegetable intake
5. Spend some time every day outside (weather permitting)
6. Use light therapy to get beneficial “sunlight” when there is none
7. If symptoms are severe, seek help from a professional
