News letter

This is a new venture for our group and school.
Message from SiGung (Teacher’s Teacher) of the Kwoon (School).
As I sit here and think of all the things that I could or can say to you it is hard to decide what to put out in this message. Most people do not really care what anyone else has to say, in most cases the writer just want to be in the spot light.
Although you really cannot tell it from our posts on our page it is not really that important to me that you know what I care about. What is important is the ability to reach someone and then find the right person that shares my enthusiasm of the life of a Martial Artist. So that is my goal.
Have you ever wanted to become good at something, so much so that you put it to the forefront of your life. Have you ever made sacrifices so that you could enjoy the people associated with what you wanted to do.
That is the entirety of my life. I have gone places and met people that when I first started, I never thought I would ever be able to meet. Most of them probably do not even remember me. But if someone was willing to show me something I was and am willing to learn.
I am sixty-one years old now soon to be sixty-two, (July 04, 2026). I am still looking for ways to improve my health so that I can learn as much more as I can until I can go no more.
I am at a weight of 262 and I am 5’ 11” by the end of this summer without the use of medicine my goal is to make it to 200 pounds. If I can do this then my second goal is to attract new students into the school.
We have started a Tai Chi Class for health at 302 S. Main Street We also have started taking kids from five years up as well. The cut off used to be seven years old.
I have three people who have been with our school for at least five years who are close to testing for their first-degree black belt. So, it is my goal that they will also help instruct as they get to the point that they are competent to do so.
One of the main reasons I am writing this is to keep you informed at to what is going on in the school and to let students and our community know about where we are headed and to give encouragement to those that need it.
If you have ever wanted to learn martial arts I will help, give you the guidance and I will listen to what you need as an individual.
I also wanted to let you know that Sheridan Youth Assistance has been a great help to our Martial Arts Community. Beth Sablehaus has made it possible for kids from our area to be able to attend our classes. For the first few years our program was given the blessing of the Town and I was able to give these classes for free with sponsorship from local business.
But as time went on, we have to pay for a lot more items, memberships, competition fees and now a space to train.
So, Sheridan Youth Assistance has assisted several of our students and we want them to know how much we appreciate them. Their efforts have allowed several of the kids they have sponsored over the years to become National Champions as well as State Champions.
We have been in business and teaching kids from 2011 until present and I hope that will continue for a very long time.
Until next we write to you again, May Gods Peace be in your heart and your Home. May the sun always shine upon your face and may there always be a song on your lips.
