To get straight to the point - Phantom is not going to be making any more boots. It’s a big change to our business, but we think that it’s the right move for Phantom. It's important to be clear that we still have a good number of boots in stock. It is also important to note that we are fully stocked with all service parts and will continue to honor our warranty and provide service on every boot that we have sold - we are not abandoning our customers. And while we still feel like the Slipper HD is an incredible value to our customers, we just cannot keep up with the workload any longer.
We are extremely proud of what we have achieved with the Slipper and the Slipper HD - in addition to winning several industry awards, ultimately, it made hardboots and the split tech system accessible to the general public. We gave riders a platform that was endlessly customizable - from the fit to the ride, everything could be personalized.
The fact is that continuing to produce boots is unsustainable at Phantom's current size, and we want to be able to splitboard during the winter, not just in the late spring. We are extremely proud of what we achieved, but it’s time to move to a more sustainable work model.
Phantom is not going anywhere! We are going to continue to make the best SplitTech bindings and board hardware in the industry. We are also going to continue making our patented Link Levers. Most importantly, we have enough spare parts that we will be able to service all of the boots that we have sold for the foreseeable future.
