🐲 Quick Norway Motorsports Park Race 12 Recap

Ing-Kuo Motorsports saw the debut of three new drivers to the grid, and we were glad to be able to help make it all happen.

🎂 It was a birthday weekend for Elon as he joined us under the IKM tent once again. It was great to see him, as he’s been busy with the FAT Karting League and his sim racing. He got some passing in, and overall, it was a weekend to keep building upon.

Johnny became our first junior driver, and he showed some great aggressive passing. He was running in the mid-pack until a slight mistake shuffled him into the back. No big deal — it was his first time out there, and the team thought he did an amazing job.

Parker played the team game again, helping Ellie get a podium in a very competitive grid on her debut. Both of them showed an eagerness to learn and attack problems head-on. We’re looking forward to seeing them work together and with Elon in the future. Don’t worry, Parker, we’re still hunting for a podium for you too!

Daniel made his debut on track and showed a very thoughtful and analytical approach to figuring out what to do, which is something the team loves. It’s just a matter of time before he gets up to pace, and then Colin will have a teammate to work with and no longer be a solo act in the 206 Senior category.

Colin had to battle it out in a pack of four, and it was a blast to watch from the sidelines as they passed and repassed each other. We love how he has been improving each race and how much he’s grown as a driver in the short time he’s been with us.

Logan found the top step again, as Leo, his championship rival, hasn’t been making it easy to walk away with the championship. The feature race win helped put the team in a strong position to secure the championship at the next race. But it isn’t over, and we’re still going to have to keep pushing and improving if we want to seal it this weekend.

🐲After a long and much needed break. The IKM team was ready to tackle the Norway Motorsports Park double header.

📍There were stand out moments for everyone, Sean with his hard charger awards, Parker being in the top 5 both days. Logan with a strong 1-2 finish to help his NMP championship, and Nick for just adapting to a different kart and racing when we told him there was an extra kart. Bummer for Sawyer as he had chain issues throughout the day, as he would have been up with the rest of the IKM drivers.

🐲Catching up on posts, and updates. After busy weeks we ended up falling behind on the recaps!

Race 8 at the Norway Motorsports Park, saw the team take to the grid again after placing 4th in Ignite the race before. This time Logan was back on the top step, with Nick Albers being the team mate of holding off title challenge Leo and a pack of 3 other drivers off as Logan and Patrick ran away from the from the pack putting a nearly 15 second gap together from the rest.

Sawyer returned to the grid after a strong result at Autobahn, and was always great to see Colin improving in the very very competitive 206 Senior category. Its only a matter of time before Colin sees the top 5 and joins in his first IKM celebration.

🐲Nick Albers is one of Ing-Kuo Motorsports’ mechanics, and he helps act as another camera operator while we are at the track. We were coming in with a very light load, and it was his time to take to the grid for the first time this year. Nick was one of the catalysts for starting IKM I remember when he was chatting and feeling a little down about racing. He mentioned possibly selling his kart, and I told him to try renting it. Now we are here.

I gave him a goal: if he was close enough, he could use one of our best CKT engines. During the practice day, he did, which prompted Logan to want to see what Nick could do.

Nick flew up two places during the heat race, and then held off the Norway Motorsports Championship contender we are battling(world), Leo R, and took his first heat podium ever.

The task was there, and Nick took his first feature race podium. He had four other drivers hunting him down throughout the race, and any time he was passed he fought to keep his position.

Nick always had the top three pace in him. He had the chassis, but never an engine, full team support, coaching, or a built setup. But today he had everything and came away with his first hardware.

🐲What. An. Amazing. Debut.

Ellie had reached out to us, and we were happy to schedule a test day with the team. Quickly their pace was very apparent. It went from consistency, pace, attacking each corner one at a time when she went out. Immediately Leo (our chief mechanic) went to ask if Ellie could race with us the next day. There was a very very important family reunion, and not something we could mess with. But we wanted to see her race.

Throughout the race day, we made minor adjustments here and there, and it was great to communicate with the driver. Once qualifying hit, she put it on P3, and would drop down to P5. We once again tweaked the setup. Then she and IKM driver Parker started moving down the field bump drafting and drafting each other. The team work was just, amazing.

It took setting the fastest lap of the race, and a great pass for Ellie to secured P3 on her debut with us and in a 206 kart. Pretty sure the team lost their voice when she crossed the line, with Logan being more excited about her race finish than his.

Another win helps stretch his lead with just 3 races left. Looking forward to supporting him at the track after the Norway Motorsports Park season wraps up.

🐲After 12 races at the Norway Motorsports Park club series, the championship is still alive and well. The track, and series has turned into a proving ground for developing our drivers as the competition has always been relentless and tough.

🥇🥇Race 11 and 12 saw a feature win for IKM instructor Logan having to come back from some adversity in race 11, and in race 12 having to hold off his title competitor Leo for the whole race. The series has forced us to pull out all stops and leave no leaf unturned to get the results we have. Impressed with the amazing job Logan has done from juggling between coach, mechanic, and competitor.
