WHAT YOU PUT FIRST IMPROVES MOST. ๐
Kobe Bryant was famous for training at 4:00 AM.
But the interesting part isn't that everyone should wake up at 4:00 AM.
It's why Kobe did.
If he trained first, basketball got his best energyโnot whatever was left after the rest of the day.
Over time, those choices compound.
What you put first improves most.
That's true for volleyball, too.
There are a LOT of things competing for a teenager's time.
School. Friends. Phones. Jobs. Other sports. Social events. Sleep. Netflix. TikTok.
None of those things are necessarily bad.
But you can't put everything first.
At some point, every athlete has to decide:
What do I actually want?
And thenโ
Does the way I spend my time match my answer?
You don't have to want to be the best volleyball player in the world.
But if you want to make the teamโฆ
Earn a starting spotโฆ
Play varsityโฆ
Compete in collegeโฆ
Or simply find out how good you could actually becomeโฆ
Development has to get some of your best timeโnot just what's left over.
That's one reason we believe so strongly in club volleyball.
A season creates space to train.
To get thousands of reps.
To receive coaching.
To strengthen weaknesses.
To compete, come back to the gym, and get better again.
Practice โ Develop โ Compete โ Assess โ Repeat.
Months of putting development high enough on the list that you actually get to see what it can produce.
Kobe's 4:00 AM workouts weren't magic.
The priority was.
