😢 WE’RE MOVING TO A HEAT SCHEDULE

Unfortunately, after reviewing multiple forecasts, it looks like Mother Nature is not going to cooperate with us this weekend. Due to the expected heat, we will not be able to safely run a full slate of games on Saturday.

After a lot of discussion with league staff, officials, and chairmen, and working through a LOT of moving pieces, games will now be spread across Saturday morning and evening, Sunday evening, and Monday evening.

We know this is not ideal. We know families have work schedules, plans, other sports, transportation issues, and commitments outside of football and cheer. We have tried to take as much of that into consideration as possible. Unfortunately, between the heat index forecasts for both Saturday and Sunday, field availability, referee availability, and the number of games that need to be played, there simply was not a perfect solution.

Athlete safety is our top priority. These decisions were not made lightly, and we truly believe this is the safest and best path forward for this weekend.

The updated schedule is attached to this post. Please disregard any previously shared schedules and carefully check your team’s game day and time, as some games have moved to a different day/time.

We know these changes may create an inconvenience for some of our families, and we sincerely appreciate your grace, patience, and flexibility as we navigate Mother Nature’s interruptions. ❤️

GBCYFL September 2026 Update:

We don't know about you, but August was HUGE for us! From weigh-in day to Senior Sunrise to the first day of school to our Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting to the first two games of the season, it's been a busy month. As we gear up for the remaining season, please make sure to visit our page at https://www.gbcyfl.com/season56 for important information.

📣Friendly Reminders. No outside food or drink, weapons, alcohol, or air horns. You may bring in an EMPTY water bottle and fill it at one of our free water stations. No smoking or va**ng outside of the designated area. Canopies cannot be on walkways, in front of bleachers, or have legs extend onto playing fields or sidelines. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED (with exception to service animals only). Accessible parking is available - if you park in one of these spots, you will be towed at your expense.

🦁💙 THE LIONS ARE BACK!!! THIS FALL, WE’RE COMING IN STRONG WITH FOUR INCREDIBLE TEAMS!

Our GBCYFL All Inclusive Lions have grown to FOUR teams, giving athletes ages 3-18 the opportunity to get on the field, be part of a team, and experience the game we all love!

This fall, we’re expanding the Lions into our regular season with Sunday game days! 🙌 Each scheduled Sunday will feature FOUR Lions games from 11 AM-1 PM, with our athletes taking the field alongside players from our districts’ Junior football teams, and our 5th-8th grade Girls Flag teams.

We cannot wait to see these athletes take the field, hear the sidelines cheering them on, and watch FOUR Lions teams do their thing! 💙🦁
