To our Mohalu community:
Sometimes the things we see on the news comes home. Sometimes the things we hope our little town is protected from break through. If you haven't heard by now, ICE was in our quiet little community today. I think it is important that information like this is shared as far and wide as we possibly can to protect those that cannot protect themselves.
I wanted to take this opportunity to be clear about Mohalu's position on this. At Mohalu, we have no tolerance for ICE and what they stand for. We believe that humans cannot be illegal and their existence is not predicated by a piece of paper. And certainly, as the adage goes, NO ONE is illegal on stolen land built by stolen hands.
In this space, and in this town, we don't make room for hate. We don't step aside for racism. And we certainly don't kowtow to masked men playing GI Joe. For our neighbors living with this fear, I want you to know that we see you. And we are here for you. This space is safe for you and yours. Always.
With much love,
Lona and the Mohalu 'Ohana.
