Fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s definitely not something you pursue just to “fit in.” The goal is to move your body in ways that support overall health, longevity, and maintenance. Find a weight that feels good for you and stick with it.
I used to train because I felt I had something to prove, whether through competition or skill, like boxing, dancing, or bodybuilding. While having an end goal can be powerful, the problem with end goals is that they eventually come to an end. Once you reach them, you have to dig deep to find new motivation to stay consistent. That’s where the real work begins.
This principle applies to spiritual practice as well. You don’t need to broadcast your rituals, beliefs, or morals. Spiritual praxis is sacred, no matter the lineage. It should be held close to the heart with deep respect for the soul. Nothing should be performative. Everything should be rooted in love and care for the self, because that’s what allows us to be of service to the whole.
Consistency inspires. I told a friend yesterday, even the motivated need motivation. I’m not always on top of my game, but when I reconnect with my “why” and remember my path, I know what needs to be done to stay consistent.
Take a moment to reflect: What are you wasting time on?
The most successful people prioritize and organize their day to get things done. They also make space for joy by not wasting time. That’s why discipline brings freedom.
Today, I mixed trampoline work into my running and jump rope routine. It got my heart rate up, helped drain the lymphatic system, and was genuinely fun. Whatever it is for you, start doing it. Don’t procrastinate.
