3 months. 24 classes. 24 hours. That is the average time it takes to go from knowing no jiu jitsu to having success in the room. If you have been on the fence about trying it, do yourself a favor and stop in. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I wanted to thank everyone that came in and trained with us last night. In total, we had 24 on the mats representing 4 different gyms in the area. I take immense pride in what we have built here. The praise that I received that I valued most from our guests was about the culture of the gym. We have fostered an environment of growth, respect, inclusion, and learning for all. It was said over and over again last night how great it was and it just reinforced all of the work that has gone into this. We have a room full of skilled men and women, but the compliments on their character just feels so much better.

Tomorrow we will be having class even with the heat. Please bring plenty of water and use caution if you get over heated easily. We will also be having 5-6 guests from Gracie Humaita Springfield. Coach Jose will also be coming down with his crew from Champaign. This is turning into quite the Tuesday class. Consider this an open invite for all gyms in the area. It will be hot, but we have the room and I am looking forward to rolling with everyone.

Coach Nate is heading out for a much-needed vacation — but don’t worry, he’s not taking a break from the grind! He’ll be training with Professor Diego Bispo at Diego Bispo Academy while away. Iron sharpens iron! 🔥🥋🌊

We are a single small school from a small town. We likely will have an incredibly difficult time bringing home team awards, but I wanted to showcase this alternative view on the results. By normal scoring, we took 6th out of 42 teams. Judging our performance by win percentage we took first when looking at the teams in the top 10. I am proud of every single teammate that stepped on the mat to compete many of which were for the first time. We will continue to grow and come back stronger. I am living the dream.
