Cleveland County Schools is proud to celebrate one of our exceptional educators!

Erin Bryant, a Social Studies teacher at Crest High School, has been named the Outstanding Holocaust Educator of the Year by the Center for Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education of North Carolina.

Through her teaching, Ms. Bryant helps students build empathy, think critically about history, and become upstanders who stand against bullying and hate. Her work goes beyond the classroom and empowers students to turn meaningful lessons into real world action.

She will be honored at an awards program on May 3, 2026 in Chapel Hill.

Good luck to all competitors!! Successful qualifiers will compete next week at Cramer Mountain Club and Gaston Country Club for the HV3 Junior Invitational Championship!!

Congratulations to Mark Latham for his Ace the par three, 12th hole at River Bend YMCA Golf Course today. Scott Jenkins, Chico Lombardo, and Steven Hodge witnessed the hole-in-one. Latham used an eight iron to accomplish this feat!

Congratulations to our River Bend YMCA Golf Club team for winning the 2026 Cleveland County Inter Club Golf Tournament contested this weekend at River Bend. Deer Brook Golf Club exhibited a strong challenge during th final round but fell three shots short to finish second. A big thank you to Cleveland Country Club, Deer Brook Golf Club, Kings Mountain Country Club, and River Bend YMCA Golf Club team golfers who participated this weekend! Today was extra special for me because it was 50 years ago today that I began working at River Bend!
