You may have noticed things have been a little quiet here lately, and that has been by design. (Or maybe you haven’t noticed, and have just been enjoying summer!)
Over the past few months, I have been stepping deeper into my professional public safety career - earning a promotion, taking on expanded responsibilities, and returning to class to further my education and licensure. These are not just personal milestones, they directly strengthen the real world safety training and expertise I bring to every Strike Six workshop.
Strike Six has always been a labor of love, my passion project, and a one woman show. It’s never been about getting rich, and I’ve never planned for it to be my full time job. Why? Because my public safety career is the foundation that makes Strike Six truly different. The real world experience I gain there is what sets us apart from other self defense classes and keeps my training practical, relevant, and effective.
That means when you train with Strike Six, you’re not just learning moves, you’re gaining knowledge rooted in real life, real situations, and ongoing growth.
Please note, private workshops/events and one-on-one training sessions are now by request and appointment only. You can reach out anytime via private message, email, or the studio phone to set something up.

Keep an eye out for our open-to-the-public community workshops popping up around Southeast Michigan and in the studio. We are still located inside of Ohana Fitness and Wellness in Shelby Township.
Lastly, and at last… I’m writing a book, one that has been on my heart for a long time! It is part personal story, part practical empowerment. It explores what it’s been like building a career in public safety and training in martial arts, two spaces often built by and for men. I’ve never felt the need to be loud about the spaces I work in. Strong leaders are not the loudest in the room, they lead with presence, not volume. I have often been one of the few women in a room, but I didn’t walk in to make a point. I walked in because I felt called. I stayed because I belonged. And this book is for the people who need to see that you can show up differently, move at your own pace, and still be strong.
I am thankful to each of you who’s stuck with me through the quiet moments. Strike Six is sharper, stronger, and more focused than ever - because of YOU!
