The new docks are in !!!! And a perfect day to do it!!

Latest on the new docks...They are here!!!

The new docks have all been delivered from Structurmarine to Shelburne Shipyard after a tariff driven roller coaster ride taken by both LCYC and the StructurMarine team (SM team in pic).

SM did a yeoman's job to expedite manufacturing and shipment to get the docks across the border before the ever changing tariff deadlines. Mission accomplished!!

The Shelburne Shipyard team has also been very helpful and supportive throughout this whole process. If you see Andrew Connell (SSY GM) say thanks!!!

A team from SM and LCYC, along with support from SSY and Pierre, will be launching the docks at SSY, moving them to LCYC and installing them in mid April.

Available until March 26 after that, it goes to the Jersey shore to be sold there.

Based on her sailing accomplishments over the past year, LCYC's own Monica Morgan has been named one of 3 finalists for US Sailing's 2024 Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year. This is US Sailing's most prestigious award and just being named a finalist is a tremendous honor. Congratulations Monica!!!!

We have friends in Shelburne that are selling their inflatable dinghy. Here is the description:

Achilles inflatable dinghy includes the boat, oars, trailer, gas can, steering wheel, captain seat and extra seat, and a Johnson 15 HP motor.

The boat, while not new, has never been used and is in excellent condition. We added the steering wheel and captain's seat to it.

The motor is older, and has been used, and recently stored in our basement, so never subject to cold weather, although it was winterized.

This is such a FUN, STABLE boat, even for younger boaters. Really Easy to launch because of its size $4000

July 4th...Dinghy Sailing at LCYC. 12 boats!!! And wind (for the most part). 3 Melges 15's, 2 Lasers and 7 RS Aeros. Ages 10 to Medicare eligible...beginners to experts....and everything in between. Come and join the fun. Loaner boats are generally available. Every Thursday night.

With the growth of Melges 15's (now up to 4 boats...enough to officially declare it a fleet) I'm officially renaming the Singlehanded Series the "Dinghy Series".

Interested in helping with RC...we have an opening for that too. You get to play with the bots!!!

Mother Nature smiled on us for Spring Workday. It's always amazing to see how quickly the club is transformed from dormancy to "ready for action". Let the summer fun begin!!

Club Opening Work Day is just around the corner, May 11th, starting at 8:00am, and to get everyone excited about the upcoming season, here are a few pictures of the new picnic tables. Thank you to the work party that put these together yesterday in advance of Work Day.

Lake Champlain Yacht Club's Junior Sailing camps are open to children ages 8-17. Our program creates a love of sailing. Your child will learn safe on-water practices, while having fun and gaining a sense of stewardship for Lake Champlain.

Sessions are week-long half-day and full-day for new and experienced sailors, starting June 17th. LCYC's program builds confidence and independence. Instructors are US Sailing certified and maintain Red Cross First Aid and CPR qualifications.

Lake Champlain Yacht Club has an active junior sailing program, open to all children ages 8-17. We use Optimist prams and Flying Junior dinghies for instruction and racing.
