🥎 CHAMPIONS ON THEIR HOME DIRT! 🥎

When the dust finally settled on the Tri-Towers 10U Tournament, there was only one team left standing…

Shelburn Pizza King.

With a victory in the championship game, these girls capped off a perfect season, finishing an incredible 13-0 and proving all season long why they were one of the best teams around.

The shutdown pitching duo of June Owens and Scarlett Copeland was simply dominant, allowing only two runs during the entire tournament. Their performance in the circle set the tone every time they stepped onto the field.

Behind them was a veteran defense led by shortstop Lena Copeland and second baseman Abigayle “Yadi” Wheeler, who locked down the middle of the field and made big plays whenever they were needed.

The outfield of Brynlee Street, Blakely Smith, AJ Bryan, Neveah Hayne, and Paisley Luttrell covered every inch of grass, allowing no dropped balls and no extra bases throughout the tournament. Their communication and hustle were outstanding.

Behind the plate, Mia Wright was clutch all weekend, controlling the game and throwing out multiple runners who tried to steal their way into scoring position.

The championship game remained tight until Raylee Langley stepped to the plate and delivered the moment every player dreams about, launching a deep shot into right-center field for a home run that broke the game open and sent the hometown crowd into a frenzy.

There is something special about winning a championship. There is something even more special about doing it on your own field, in front of your own fans, wearing the name of your community across your jersey.

These girls defended their home field with pride and, when it was all said and done, were crowned Tri-Towers Tournament Champions on their home dirt in front of a hometown crowd.

We couldn’t be prouder of this group of young ladies. They played hard, played together, and represented the Shelburn community with class every step of the way.

🥎🔥 CHAMPIONSHIP FRIDAY IS HERE! 🔥🥎

After another exciting night of tournament softball, the lights went out on one more team, and now only three teams remain in the hunt for the championship.

The Carlisle girls have battled their way through the bracket all week, winning close games and proving they belong among the final three. Tonight at 6:00 PM, they will face the defending tournament champion Dugger Bulldogs in a win-or-go-home showdown. The winner punches their ticket to the championship game and a chance to play for the title.

Waiting for them is Shelburn Pizza King, who earned their spot in the championship game with a victory over Dugger last night. They have been dominant all season long and now sit just one win away from a championship on their home field. The title game is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

So who will be the last team standing?

🥎 Carlisle – the scrappy underdogs who refuse to quit and have grinded out victories all week long.

🥎 Dugger – the defending champions looking to repeat and add another trophy to their collection.

🥎 Shelburn Pizza King – undefeated, battle-tested, and looking to finish an incredible season by winning it all on their home dirt.

Three teams. Two games. One champion.

It’s going to be an incredible night at the diamond, and we want the stands packed for these young ladies. There will be NO GATE FEE tonight, so bring your family, bring your lawn chairs, and come cheer on some outstanding softball.

🥎 FINAL FOUR NIGHT IS HERE! 🥎

After the dust settled last night, only four teams remain in the Tri Towers 10U Tournament!

Both games were battles from start to finish, and one of them was decided by just a single run at home plate. That’s how close the competition has become as we head into the biggest night of the tournament so far.

🔥 Game 1
Shelburn Pizza King vs. Dugger Bulldogs

The stage is set for a showdown between the top two seeds. Shelburn enters undefeated as this year’s league champion, while Dugger comes in as the defending tournament champion. These teams know what it’s like to play under the bright lights and handle the pressure of big games.

🔥 Game 2
Sullivan vs. Carlisle

This one is simple: win and advance, lose and go home. A spot in the Final 3 is on the line, and both teams will leave everything they have on the field.

The intensity is rising, the crowd is getting louder, and every pitch matters from here on out.

🌭 Grab some dinner from the concession stand, cheer on these young athletes, and enjoy what promises to be an incredible night at the diamond.

🥎🔥 It’s Night 3 of the 10U Girls Tri Towers Tournament… which means it’s officially “Elimination Wednesday!” 🔥🥎

Tonight the competition heats up as teams battle it out for a spot in the Final Four. It’s win or go home, and by the end of the night only four teams will be left standing, and one step closer to bringing home the championship.

These girls have played their hearts out all week long, and tonight is going to be full of big hits, great plays, and lots of excitement at the ball diamond.

Come out, grab some food from the concession stand, cheer on these young athletes, and enjoy a great summer evening at the park with our community.

Nothing beats a night at the diamond under the lights. ⚾️🥎🌭.

Well, apparently somebody thought the Shelburn Ball Diamond equipment shed was the hottest nightclub in Sullivan County around 3:00 AM last night. 😅⚾️

Unfortunately for him, a Sullivan County Deputy was out doing patrols around the park and noticed a grown man trying to steal more than second base.

Nothing was taken, unless you count his dignity. The only thing he managed to steal was a few minutes of the deputy’s time.

After a brief conversation, he was officially ejected from the ballpark before he could try out for the “Midnight Maintenance Crew.” We appreciate our deputies keeping an eye on our small communities and ball fields, even at 3:00 in the morning.

Just a reminder: The concession stand is not open after midnight.

🥎 On a serious note… tonight is Night 2 of the 10U Girls Tri Towers Tournament! We’ll have the grill fired up, the Sno Cone truck back to keep everyone cool, and your hometown team, Pizza King, will take the field tonight for the second game at 7:30. Come out and support these girls and enjoy a fun night at the diamond… preferably before midnight 😎

🥎The Shelburn Youth League is excited to host the 10U Tri-Towers Softball Tournament June 1-5 at the Shelburn Ball Diamond!

It's been a few years since we've had a softball tournament in Shelburn, and we couldn't be more excited to bring tournament softball back to our community. Our volunteers have worked hard to make this a fun and memorable experience for the players, coaches, families, and fans who will be visiting our town all week long.

🎟 Gate Admission:
• $5 per game
• $10 week pass
• FREE for ages 18 & under

With all the rain the past few days, the field looked more like a pond this morning when I got there to start getting it ready for tonight’s games. I’ll be honest, it felt like I wasn’t gaining any ground and might not get it ready in time.

Then out of nowhere, Tony Seay walks out onto the field, grabs a broom and a wet/dry vac, and just gets to work. He was just driving by and decided to stop.

A couple hours later, between the two of us, the field was back where it needed to be.

Tony used to run Shelburn Youth League years ago when his kids were playing. Now his youngest, Shelby, is getting ready to play her final college game this Friday… which doesn’t even seem possible. No kids in the league anymore, his day off from work, and he still showed up to make sure these kids got to play tonight.

Of course, once the work was done, we spent a couple more hours just talking, remembering the old days in the dirt. Those are the moments you don’t plan for, but end up meaning the most.

He probably won’t be too happy I snuck a picture, but some people deserve to be recognized.

Sometimes the good Lord puts people right where you need them. Today, he sent me a helping hand, and a good conversation with an old friend.

More work getting done out at the Shelburn Ball Diamond today.

KTI and Reddog Dumpsters were out scraping up old sod and getting things leveled up as we keep improving the field for our kids and community.

Huge thank you to the Kennedy family. They’re always stepping up—whether it’s sponsoring teams or volunteering their time to help keep things going. That kind of support is what makes small town ball special.
