🎉 Great news for MRCA!

We are excited to announce that Ashton Reed has stepped up to serve as our 2026–2027 Points Coordinator!

Ashton will be responsible for tracking our contestants’ season points throughout the year and posting updated standings following each rodeo.

This is such an important job, and we are incredibly thankful to Ashton for volunteering her time to help keep our season organized and our families up to date. ❤️

🚨 HEADS UP, MRCA FAMILIES! 🚨

Our first rodeo weekend in Pauls Valley is only TWO WEEKS AWAY, and we’re kicking off the season with TWO fundraiser events! 🤠

🐴 FRIDAY NIGHT — SLED ROPING PRACTICE
7:00–8:30 PM
Come get some practice in before the rodeo! We’ll have coaches available to help, so bring those ropes and come level up! $25

🐮 SATURDAY NIGHT — OPEN TEAM ROPING JACKPOT
After the daytime MRCA rodeo
Stick around Saturday night and rope with us! This jackpot is open to everyone, so spread the word and bring your roping buddies!

❤️ All proceeds from both events go directly toward our end-of-year awards for the kids!

First rodeo weekend is almost here, and it’s going to be a FUN one…putting the FUN in FUNdraiser! 🤠🙌

📣 MRCA STILL NEEDS YOU!

As we get ready to kick off the 2026–2027 season, we still have two important positions to fill:

💰 Treasurer – Manages MRCA finances, track income and expenses, maintain accurate financial records, create & distribute payouts, provide financial updates/projections to the Board.

📊 Points Coordinator – Tracks contestant points and All-Around standings throughout the season and helps ensure standings are accurate and posted in a timely manner. Excel skills and attention to detail are important for this position but we can help you learn!

Both of these roles are a huge part of keeping MRCA organized and running smoothly for our contestants and families.

If you’re dependable, organized, and willing to lend your talents to MRCA, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out to Summer Lyons or any MRCA Board member if you’re interested or would like more information.

🤠 NEW EVENT ALERT — SLED ROPING! 🤠

We’re excited to offer Pull-Behind Sled Dummy Roping for our 6 & Under and 7–9 contestants this season!

This is a horseback event designed to give our younger cowkids the opportunity to get in the box and build their roping skills in a fun, competitive setting.

🐴 6 & Under: Sled pulled at 8 MPH
🐴 7–9: Sled pulled at 10 MPH
🪢 Contestants start horseback from the roping box
🪢 One loop
🪢 Catch-as-catch-can — the dummy’s head must pass through the loop
🪢 Rope is secured to the saddle horn with a ribbon
⏱️ 30-second time limit
🏁 Time stops when the ribbon breaks

We officially have a 2026–2027 General Fundraiser Coordinator! Please help us welcome Laramie Isley! 🤠

Laramie and his wife, Tiffany, are stepping up to help us get organized in the fundraising department and keep everything moving throughout the season. We’re still going to need all of y’all to jump in, participate, and help raise those funds — but Laramie and Tiffany are going to help keep us organized and on track!

We’re excited to announce that Lindsay Emerson will be stepping into our Fundraiser Jackpot Coordinator position! Thank you, Lindsay, for volunteering to take this on! 🤠

This position plays an important role in helping MRCA raise additional funds through our fundraiser jackpots throughout the season.

📣 We still need a General Fundraiser Coordinator!

Our Fundraiser Coordinator helps organize and oversee our other fundraising efforts throughout the year — 50/50 raffles, silent auctions, bake sales, concessions, and more. Basically, someone willing to herd the cats and help keep us organized! 😂

This position is CRUCIAL to MRCA. Our fundraising efforts are what help us:

💰 Keep entry fees low
💰 Keep membership fees low
🚫 Avoid additional dues and fees
🏆 Provide AWESOME year-end awards for our kids!

The more we can raise throughout the season, the less we have to ask from our families.
