It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of KCMSBL Hall of Fame First Baseman Ray Jewett.

Ray passed away peacefully in his sleep last week following a battle with multiple health conditions. He was a longtime member of the KCMSBL, a frequent player on post-season Phoenix World Series Teams, and a wonderful teammate to many. While he is no longer on our roster, we know the roster he is now on is in a far better place...where there are no bad hops, the sun is never in your eyes, you get to hit pearls for BP, and the wind is always blowing out.

In honor of Ray a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at the Tanner's on 143rd and Metcalf, starting at 2:30pm. Please reach out to Bryan Krantz ([email protected]) if you plan on attending.

The Astros sweep past the Monarchs to win the Charlie Holmes National Championship Title. The Astros finished with an impressive 30-7 record and were led by Eddy Morales at the plate (.514 batting average) and aces Jeff Stewart (8-0 1.19 era) and Luke Kathol (9-2 2.58) on the bump.

Los Lobos beat the Expos 8-7 to win the Backyard Baseball Championship Sunday night at KC MO 3&2 Stadium.

Congratulations to the Brewers for winning the 45+ Scotty Matteson division championship. They defeated the Blues 5-4 to bring home the championship trophy. The Brewers look to carry the momentum to the MSBL World Series in Phoenix, AZ. later this month where they will be competing against top teams from across the country.
