Most JCPRD facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, and have normal business hours Saturday and Sunday, unless otherwise noted.

- JCPRD parks and trails will be open during regular park hours, check single-track trail status at https://jcprd.com/696/Rainouts-Temporary-Closures
- Tomahawk Hills and Heritage Park golf courses will be open during regular hours, weather permitting
- Ernie Miller Nature Center will be closed Monday - restrooms are not available when the nature center is closed.
- Visitor Services at Shawnee Mission Park will be closed Monday. Purchase permits online.
- Shawnee Mission Park Marina will be open - reserve scheduled time online (10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm, 2:30 pm - last rental)

The Kansas Department of Transportation will soon begin a redecking project of the I-435 bridge over Midland Drive in the City of Shawnee, KS. Once road work is underway, drivers will not be able to drive on Midland under the bridge. KDOT is overseeing this long-term project and we will share info from them as we receive updates.

This project will affect access to a few JCPRD facilities and trails if you normally use I-435 and get off the Midland Drive exit to go eastbound or westbound. The facilities and trails that will be affected include Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park, Tomahawk Hills Golf Course, Mid-America Sports Complex Park, Mid-America West Sports Complex, Okun Fieldhouse, Mill Creek Activity Center, Midland Drive Access trailhead for Gary L. Haller Trail in Mill Creek Streamway Park, and Ogg Road entrance to Shawnee Mission Park.

There will be detours provided to access these locations.

ACCESS TO WESTBOUND MIDLAND:
Take 435 northbound to Shawnee Mission Parkway exit
Follow signs for 435 southbound
Take Midland exit to access Tomahawk Hills Golf Course, Ogg Road entrance to Shawnee Mission Park, Mid-America Sports Complex, Mid-America West Sports Complex, Okun Fieldhouse, Mill Creek Activity Center and Midland Drive Access trailhead for Gary L. Haller Trail

ACCESS TO THEATRE IN THE PARK and SHAWNEE MISSION PARK:
Take 435 northbound to 87th Street exit
Turn left and head for Renner Road
Turn right on Renner Road to access Shawnee Mission Park and Theatre in the Park

We are hiring for an Athletic Complex Maintenance Worker position. Position performs park maintenance for JCPRD sports fields, including baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. This position also performs building maintenance as applicable. Responsible for maintaining all outdoor fields and indoor courts at a level of excellence to ensure safe play and patron satisfaction.

If you live in the Midwest, you know the seasons feel like they change hourly. We are currently winterizing our parks and facility restrooms. JCPRD winterization is in effect October 15 – April 15 each year.

Park/Streamway Park restrooms closed:
All parks, except for the parks mentioned below that are open

Park restrooms open:
- Meadowbrook Park
- Shawnee Mission Park Off-Leash and Heritage Park Dog Off-leash Area open year-round
- Restrooms available year-round in Shawnee Mission Park at the JCPRD Administration Building
- Big Bull Creek Park open until further notice
- Kill Creek Park open until Oct. 27

Facility restrooms open:
- Okun Fieldhouse open year-round except on holidays
- Mid-America Sports Complex restrooms open until Thanksgiving weekend
- Mid-America West Sport Complex restrooms open until mid-November
- Heritage Park restrooms for softball fields until Nov. 1
- Heritage Park restrooms for soccer fields until Nov. 8
- Heritage Park restrooms for football fields only open during games
