Everyone is talking about peptides, but what are they really?
Think back to BCAAs...
A single amino acid is like one monkey from a Barrel of Monkeys. đ”
When you connect a few monkeys together, you have a small chain. That's essentially what a peptide isâa short chain of amino acids.
Connect hundreds or thousands together, and you get a protein.
So while proteins and peptides are made from the same building blocks, they're not the same thing. Peptides are much smaller and often act like messengers, helping different parts of your body communicate.
Depending on the peptide, those messages may involve:
â
Appetite and blood sugar regulation
â
Recovery and tissue repair
â
Growth hormone signaling
â
Sleep and recovery
â
Healthy aging
â
Skin and collagen support
That's why saying, "I'm taking a peptide," doesn't really tell us much.
It's like saying, "I drive a vehicle."
A motorcycle, pickup truck, and sports car are all vehiclesâbut they're built for very different jobs.
The same is true with peptides.
The most important question isn't:
â "Which peptide should I take?"
It's:
â
"What goal am I trying to accomplish?"
Because the right tool always depends on the destination.
In this episode, we break down peptides, GLP 1 medications, hormone therapy, recovery, and healthy aging in plain English so you can better understand your options and make informed decisions about your health.
