Weekend Recap:

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve done a recap and I will be the first to apologize for that!

Captain of the Creek Week

Friday: Drew the 23 Chip which put us P2 for the 3rd heat, which on a normal day would be awesome, in this case, in World Cup terms, it put us P2 in the group of death..aka a lot of top runners in this heat.

Heat Race: Started P2, and ran damn good for most of the race holding onto P2 for a bit, the 89R raced us mostly clean this time and got by on lap 5, the 17V made a mad dash to the front in a few laps and got by us before a caution came out with 4 to go. Taking the green the 131 bullied his way under us causing us to lose 2 more spots but held onto P6 to finish.

B-Main: Started p6 with the top 7 making one of the A-Main Qualifiers for Saturday's big show. The 94 continued his strong season getting by 5 cars including us, but we held onto P7 to make the A-Main

A-Main, started 23rd with the plan to run the back and move up as wrecks happen, fortunately, (unfortunately for us) it went pretty much green to checkered and we finished 22nd

Saturday: Heat Race - Started P7 with the top 2 making the show, 3-5 making the LCQ, and 6/7 making the non qualifier race. Had to avoid wrecking the 26 a few times in the heat, wasn’t about to junk him or myself for a non transfer spot. Ended up P7 to make the non qualifier

Non-Qualifier Main: Started P19 out of 21, got up to P8 before getting shoved into the front stretch wall and dropped back to 14th because of it. Our night ended short after trying to avoid a spun out car and getting BARELY nicked on the right side, but due to the body panels already being crinkled after being shoved into the wall earlier, this last caution ripped the entire right side of the car off except for a brace on the RR quarter panel. But on a positive note, we got more screen time because of it!

Congratulations to the 01 on the $10,000 win and to the 21D on the $1,000 non qualifier win!

All in all it was a great weekend, and a big confidence builder moving forward! We’ll get the body fixed up and should be back out this weekend!

Not only is it a huge week for us locally racing for $10,000 at 141 for the Captain of the Creek (Matt Avila invitational), but this Sunday the Green Bay Blizzard have an opportunity to bring home the Indoor Football League Championship!

If you haven’t had a chance to experience the environment of the Indoor Football League,  make sure to get out to a game next season because it’s an absolute blast!

Eight years ago, I got the opportunity to play for this organization, and ever since then (and before) they’ve been extremely supportive, and just amazing, not only to me, but to my family and friends as well! 

So make sure after all the dust settles from the captain to tune into Yahoo Sports at 6:30 PM on Sunday, to cheer on YOUR Green Bay Blizzard as they take on the Arizona Rattlers in the IFL Championship Game!
