Quattro Assi Bikes

Quattro Assi Bikes We are a small bike shop that wants to work on your bike. If your bike needs some love and care, call me. If you're not sure what your bike needs, call me.

In time we will be a mobile shop for the Rocky Mount and Wilson area of NC.

I do have to say that LOOK Cycle has some pretty good customer service. A bike that I'm building up was missing a piece for the whole aero stem/steerer tube combo. I emailed them, sent them some pics, answered a few questions, 2 days later I have the piece.

So, a big thank you to LOOK Cycle for their help and service.

Back to promoting my work. I do build up bikes for you if you got one online, or have a frame just sitting around that you've wanted built up.

If your bike needs a tune up, call me. If you bikes needs more TLC than you can give it, call me.

Don't be shy, I'd love to help you get back to riding your bike.

What's on my mind? A few things I suppose. One, is Easter is always a special time of the year for me. Being a Christian of the Catholic persuasion makes Easter especially important to me. I won't go into details, since it is quite personal to me.

With Spring time in mind, allergies are unpleasant.

Road racing season has been going for us since mid-February. I've already been up to Virginia, down to Spartanburg, SC, and across NC. Throughout the rest of the road season, I think I'll get up as far north as Philadelphia, then to Baltimore. I may get as far south as the Atlanta area. Ah the joys of officiating.

Closer to home, I've been fighting with a frameset that was brought to me for a build up. I've run into issue with getting it's mechanical front derailleur to work properly. That is proving to be frustrating. To top it off, I'm working with the manufacturer to get a part in to finish up the cockpit correctly. I have stand in spacers, but to help it look and steer correctly I need a piece from the manufacturer. As I write this I got an update, the part is on the way from the manufacturer. Sweet.

As it is, today is a nice day.

Something new to add. Sadly it didn't carry over from Skool like I hoped.

Anyway, another way to follow me, and interact will be via the Skool app or the website.

So please go to: https://www.skool.com/cycling-ride-build-repair-3353/about?ref=c25b40b49a72491691d8abcf8d24d09e

I'll show more on basic bike stuff, maybe more musings, and perhaps more cooking related stuff.

I suppose it is time to clear up some things.

I am still around the Rocky Mount/Wilson area.

I'm still working on bikes. I will gladly work on yours. If you have one from one of the many online shops, I will gladly make sure that the set up is done correctly.

I am currently working on getting set up to have a mobile shop, meaning I can come to you. Meaning if you are at work and need your bike worked on, I can do so. If you're at home and want your bike worked on I can do so.

I have a few NOS framesets floating around.

I do officiate races on many weekends throughout the year, so I'm not always immediately available, at least not always in person.

This next little bit is for newer riders. Yes you can purchase a bike at your local big box store for a relatively small amount of money. Although if you have a clue that you want to ride more than just around the neighborhood and want something that has quality go to your local bike shop. Yes the entry level bikes will cost a little more, but they will be infinitely better builds than a big box store bike. Spend the little more money and get a better product that will come with good customer service.

Yes, I do share a name with the old Quattro Assi Bikes, that Bill Lewis set up years ago. My business is, in part, inspired by Bill and his Quattro Assi Bikes. I do have a couple of my personal bikes from him. I do not have any of his old stock. I do have a few stories about Bill. He was a character, and loved bicycles. I do not know with certainty when he stopped his version of Quattro Assi Bikes.

I do expect to build a website again in the near-ish future. In the meantime FB and IG will have to work. I'm still debating about TikTok.

Back to talking about races. This weekend is the NCGP Cyclocross weekend. Visit www.nccyclocross.com for a bit more information. Tim's races this weekend are UCI events, and are held in Hendersonville, NC. Don't be shy about making a visit out there. You will see some great racing. Next weekend is an off weekend for NC Cyclcocross, due to Thanksgiving. The following weekend, December 6 to be exact is the last of the NCCX races this year. I may or may not be officiating, but I do expect to be there regardless. It is double points because it is for the series finals, and may mix up results for the series. https://www.bikereg.com/nccxrace12salisbury to register.

I'm not sure if CXMAS by Oak City is a race or just a fun event this year (it has been both in the past), but it is on the 14th of December. https://www.bikereg.com/Confirmed/73400 Please register and come have fun.

If you are interested in making a trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas this year CX National Championships start on December 12th. To reiterate, these are for your National Champions, some of who will go onto Worlds held in early 2026.

Alrighty, this has been a long post. I'm still here, I still work on bikes. Hopefully I'll get to work on yours.

Been a long minute since I posted anything.

Not a whole lot going on. Cross season started, World's in Australia started. I officiated a ton of races, both on moto and at finish. Moto-marshalled USPros in Knoxville, as well as the Maryland Cycling Classic.

Now I have a moment to work on a project for the company. Needed a way to move fast cylinders. This is so because the new truck has a shell and I don't want the gas in the back.

So I'm making a carrier to fit in the hitch of the truck. The pic is the start of the fit up for the base. Won't be pretty, just needs to work.

It's been a long while since I've been in FB. Things got wierd for that long while. Moral is, don't get sick.

So the answer to the unasked question, yes I'm still around. Yes I still work on bikes. Although getting parts is still hard, and more expensive. I do still have 4 carbon frame sets available, 2 ea of 52 and 54cm. I have a 56cm demo available with FSA WE gruppo too.

Today I found an article that had a decent primer on frame materials. Thought that I'd share it.

How to choose the right frame material for your next bike
