***A message from Coach Andrew Poliferno***
It is with difficulty, and only after careful and substantial consideration, that I am resigning as the Varsity baseball coach of Sharon High School (SHS). I have been fortunate to coach within the SHS baseball family since 2015, where I began as the Freshman baseball head coach. In 2016, I was assigned as the JV head baseball coach and, in 2017, I was appointed as the assistant varsity coach after longtime coach Joel Peckham retired and his assistant, Kee Arguimbau, was hired as the head coach. In 2021, Kee resigned, and I had the pleasure of managing the SHS baseball program for three years.
I am proud of many of the accomplishments by the baseball program, some of which include:
• Collaboration with SYBSA, the local youth baseball program in Town, including volunteering at their snack shack and at various SYBSA events
• Volunteering at the Sharon summer triathlon
• Annual program outings open to all program players to watch a local college baseball game
• Crafting a successful petition to name our new baseball field after longtime coaching great Joel Peckham, in dedication of his 40+ years of coaching SHS baseball and unwavering commitment to the SHS baseball program
Coaching at my alma mater has been one of the most profoundly impactful and memorable experiences of my life. Though I will no longer be at the helm of SHS baseball, my desire to see the program excel remains as strong as ever.
I wish the very best to all of our program players, both current and future, and look forward to watching all of you succeed on and off the field. I can't wait to see the 2024 Eagles baseball team run onto the newly built Peckham Park on opening day. Go Eagles! 🦅
