Save the date October 3, 10:00am. The USIK is going to come to Shallotte to host a seminar. The topic will be ground fighting from philosophies of Isshinryu karate and anti-bullying. The seminar is free for USIK members, if you are not a member the cost will be $35 and that will include your membership to the USIK and that will run the rest of this year and into next year. With your membership you will get a certificate and any future seminars in that calendar year will be free. For the first time ever they're also going to have a cookout afterwards, this way you get to meet other students and instructors from other Dojos and socialize a little bit. We are going to have a sign up sheet which I'd like you to be signed up by September 20th so we can get a headcount for food. Feel free to contact us with any questions

A big congratulations to South East Carolina Isshinryu own Mr Enli. July 22 thru July 26 he traveled to Romania with Team USA where he competed at the WUKF World karate tournament. There Team USA competed against 2100 competitors from 47 countries. Mr Enli finished 1st in team ippon fighting, 2nd in ippon fighting, 3rd in kata, 5th in long weapons and 9th in short weapons. It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grand Master Nick Adler. Shihan Adler was the Sensei of Scott Klinger whom we trained under when we lived in New Jersey. The Isshinryu world has lost an icon, May he rest in Peace.

At the Isshinryu Hall of Fame. South East Carolina Isshinryu had a great night, we had 5 nominations Miss Shelby 12 and under karate ka of the year and competitor of the year. Mr Billy 12 and under karate ka of the year, Mr Enli young competitor of the year and coach Justin the Steve Armstrong outstanding contributions to Isshinryu award. Out of those 5 we won three of the categories Mr Shelby 12 and under karate-ka of the year, Mr Billy 12 and under karate-ka of the year and coach Justin the Steve Armstrong outstanding contributions to Isshinryu. We are proud of all the nominees.
