I serve as the Vice President of Doe Camp Nation, a women’s education retreat focused on offering classes in outdoor skills in a supportive and safe environment. Our program offers a wide range of hands-on classes—from shooting sports to outdoor survival and beyond, classes from past.
We are a fully volunteer-run organization and rely heavily on donations to keep our retreat accessible. These contributions allow us to include materials and takeaways for participants, helping ensure a meaningful and hands-on experience for all.
Our third annual event will take place September 11–13, 2026 at Jackson’s Lodge in Canaan, VT.
In 2024, we reached out to the membership for shotgun shell donations to support our beginner and advanced shotgun classes. Thanks to an incredible response, we were able to carry supplies forward into this year. We are currently seeking the following:
20 gauge shells
Preferably 7/8 oz, ~1200 fps
#7 or #8 shot
Doe Camp Nation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donation receipts are available for all contributions.
Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to arrange pickup of donations.

Beautiful day at Hale Mountain today for range cleanup. The members that came did an excellent job with replacing target stands on the 100 yd range, target repair on upper range, archery range work, basic cleanup at pistol pit and rifle range. The rifle range bench area was Immaculate with brass cleanup, all old wood removed and items arranged.

Spring is (finally) making its way to Vermont!

Just a quick reminder that Clays season opens at Hale on April 1st at 1 PM with Trap.

You do not need to be a member to participate in Trap or Mini Sporting Clays—everyone is welcome! Volunteers will be on hand to help beginners get started, so don’t hesitate to come out and give it a try. Bring a friend and enjoy the day!
