“For a long time, losing weight felt like a battle I could never quite win.
I tried. I prayed. I started over more times than I can count. There were moments when I felt discouraged, frustrated, and even disappointed in myself. I knew what I wanted, but getting there felt harder that I ever imagined.
Then I decided I was worth fighting for!
My journey to losing weight wasn’t because of one magic solution. It was a combination of hard decisions, medical support, perseverance, and learning to give myself grace along the way.
Zepbound became one of the tools that helped me take the step. It helped me begin changing my relationship with food and gave me hope that maybe this time could be different.
But eventually, I know I needed more.
In July 2025, I joined Studio Health. To some women, joining a gym is scary. Not at Studio Health. From the front desk staff to the trainer, everyone there is so encouraging, friendly and helpful. The trainers, Mitch, Noah, and Mipo are excellent. They help teach you to believe in yourself and treat you how to make your body stronger.
On, June 2, 2026, I had gastric sleeve surgery. Walking into surgery wasn’t easy. I had questions, fears, and plenty of emotions. Surgery wasn’t a shortcut, and I knew it wasn’t going to do the work for me. It was a tool – one that would require me to change my habits, my mindset, and the way I cared for myself.
The changes have not been easy. There were changes in what I could eat, how much I could eat, how I thought about food, and how I listened to my body. There were days when the scale didn’t move the way I wanted it to. There were moments when I wondered if everything I was doing was actually working.
But I kept going.
I reminded myself that this wasn’t just about a number on the scale.
It was about getting healthier.
It was about having more energy.
It was about being present for the people I love.
It was feeling comfortable in my own skin.
And, maybe most importantly, it was about realizing that taking care of myself isn’t selfish.
Losing 90 pounds has been about so much more than weight.
It’s been about discipline when I didn’t feel motivated.
It’s been about getting back up when I feel like giving up.
It’s been about leaning that progress doesn’t always happen as quickly as I want it to.
And it’s been about trusting God through every part of the journey.
I don’t believe God brought me this far just to leave me here.
There were times I prayed for the strength to change, and I realize now that sometimes the answer to our prayers comes through the courage to make difficult choices.
Zepbound was a tool!
Gastric sleeve was a tool!
Exercise is a tool!
But I still have to choose to keep going.
I have to keep choosing myself.
I have to keep choosing my health.
I have to choose not to give up!
And today, when I look back at the woman who started this journey, I don’t see someone who failed.
I see someone who kept trying until she found a path that worked for her.
Ninety pounds later, I’m not just celebrating a smaller body.
I’m celebrating a stronger woman.
A woman who learned that starting over isn’t failure.
A woman who learned that progress isn’t always measured by scales.
A woman who learned that taking care of herself is an act of love.
A woman who learned that it’s okay to ask for help.
And a woman who finally understands that she was worth the fight all along.
This is not the end of my story.
It’s the beginning of a healthier chapter.
And I’m so proud of the woman I’m becoming.
90 pounds down and more to go.
A lifetime of healthier choices ahead.
And God beside me every step of the way!”
