I'm putting together a video discussing the state of MMA and how referees and athletic commissions are ruining the sport that they're supposed to oversee. As part of that video, I am going back to some previous fights we had where either the referee, the AC, or both the ref and the AC totally screwed our fighter(s).
The video below was from Emilee King's fight vs Brogan Sanchez. Yes, that's an intentional, illegal knee that Brogan Sanchez dropped on Emilee's face. That fight took place in Kansas and here are some fun facts from the KS AC's rules and regulations:
**128-6-1. – professional boxing**
(uu) If the referee determines that a contest or exhibition shall not continue because of an injury caused by an intentional foul, the boxer who committed the intentional foul shall lose by disqualification.
(vv) If the referee determines that a contest or exhibition may continue despite an injury caused by an intentional foul, the boxer who committed the intentional foul shall lose by disqualification.
**128-6-2. - Professional bare-knuckle fighting.**
(ss) If the referee determines that a contest or exhibition shall not continue because of an injury caused by an intentional foul, the contestant who committed the intentional foul shall lose by disqualification.
(tt) If the referee determines that a contest or exhibition may continue despite an injury caused by an intentional foul, the contestant who committed the intentional foul shall lose by disqualification.

So, expect my video to drop later this week or Tuesday of next week. Something has to change, because the only people benefiting from the referees passivity, the athletic commissions corruption and cowardice, and those rare instances where the referees passivity and the ACs corruption and cowardice align are the cheaters. The worst sorts of people in the MMA community that don't care anything about the rules and are there only to get a check and act tough. Like tiny Cartman's shouting, "Respect my Authoritah!!!"
That being said, I do know some good referees. I'm so thankful that TN has such an amazing commission. I love working with the NV commission, Mr. Mullins is fantastic. Though, in general, those are the exceptions not the rule.
It's time to put the rules back into MMA in meaningful ways. It's time to stop people from cheating. It's time to make MMA Great Again!
