Dear Kinder Farm Disc Golf Club members,
We are writing to you today to recruit board members for our disc golf club for the next year. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who are willing to help us govern and manage the club.
As a board member of the disc golf club, you will be responsible for:
• Setting the club's vision and goals
• Developing and implementing the club's strategic plan
• Overseeing the club's finances and budget
• Ensuring that the club is run in a fair and equitable manner
• Representing the club to the community
In addition to these general responsibilities there are some more defined board positions with slightly different responsibilities:
The President will:
• Schedule meetings of the Board as needed. Board meetings may be either online or at an agreed-upon time and place
• Preside at all meetings of the Board and general meetings.
• Make interim appointments and appoint committee heads as needed with the approval of the Board
• Have the authority to sign checks and contracts with the knowledge of the Treasurer.
• Schedule and coordinate local tournaments with approval by the Board
• Serve as the primary interface with the state and national disc golf community
• Serve as the primary contact for the club
• Oversee the annual nomination of Board members
• Answer appropriate Club email or communications
• Respond to public inquiries
• Be the primary interface with officials
The Vice President will:
• Perform the duties of an absent President and perform such duties as are assigned to him by the President
• Serve key supportive role in local tournaments by securing all help from club members as needed to ensure a successful tournament
• Assist the President with annual Board nominations
The Treasurer will:
• Have charge of all funds of the organization
• Maintain the Club’s bank account
• Make an annual financial report to the membership at the fall meeting.
• Provide a report of the club’s finances upon request.
• Have the authority to sign checks with the knowledge of the President
• Coordinate the collection of dues and keep track of paying members
• Present the Club’s annual operating budget that includes estimated annual income and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year
The Secretary will:
• Record and disseminate the agenda, minutes, and notes from Club meetings
• Work closely with the Director of Marketing in the combined goal of maintaining clear and consistent communication within the Club and in the eyes of the public
• Maintain membership lists and contact information
• Work with the Director of Fundraising, Promotions and Marketing on the ex*****on of all KFDGC general membership elections
The Director of Facilities will:
• Be responsible for maintaining the course
• Be responsible for maintaining lost and found
• Coordinating with Anne Arundel Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Kinder as necessary to facilitate changes to the course
• Keeping all baskets locked in position as appropriate
• Maintaining sleeve locations
• Keeping track of the location of any additional sleeves and capping them as appropriate
• Moving baskets to alternate sleeve locations when appropriate
• Develop and maintain appropriate signage and course maps
The Director of Marketing will:
• Be responsible for much of the communication of information within the structure of the Club
• Create and maintain the KFDGC website
• Provide online local tournament information and online tournament registration
• Maintain and grow Club internet presence (website, message board, etc), while ensuring all electronic communication is updated and relevant
• Ensure that up-to-date information about Kinder Farm Disc Golf Course is disseminated to the various state and national disc-golf-related websites
• Maintain the kiosk message board.
• Work with the Secretary on the ex*****on of all KFDGC general membership elections
Ancillary Board member:
• Attend all Board meetings
• Capacity to vote on all Board Decisions
• Assist with operations as requested by the Officers
• Perform incidental duties as requested by the Officers
This year all 9 board member positions will be open for election. If you are interested in serving as a leader of the disc golf club, please submit a letter of interest to [email protected] by Nov 15th. We also welcome all that are interested but unsure to reach out to a current board member to get more information and join us for the next Board meeting.
